It’s not a well-kept secret that blogging allows me some very cool opportunities. Last month after the Summit at Fritz Farm opened in Lexington, Kentucky, I got invited to the Draper James grand opening. Unfamiliar with the brand? Draper James is the southern inspired clothing, accessory and home line started by Reese Witherspoon. The Lexington store is the third overall following the first store in Nashville and another in Dallas.

This clothing line encompasses so many things that I embrace with my personal style: whimsical prints, bold colors, as well as fit and flares. Almost immediately, I was drawn to this cherry print dress from the summer collection. The dress has short sleeves and pockets {#YAS} and is just one of those pieces that you feel good in.
The cherry print has navy, green, red and pink in it which makes it easy to accessorize with items in your closet. Mostly, I’m in love with how flattering this fit and flare is. This dress makes me feel confident and beautiful & isn’t that what we all want from the items in our closet?

Styling this dress called for pieces that were complementary without taking any of the attention away from the fun, cherry printed dress. I can’t always coordinate my lipstick with what I’m wearing but I loved the shade of pink in the cherry print so much that I pulled out a hot pink, matte lipstick to match.
To go with the reds, I pulled out my buffalo plaid heels. I know that some people associate buffalo plaid with fall and winter but I love the way it looks paired with this dress. I matched the plaid pumps with one of my favorite handbags. I remember ordering this red, leather satchel from Vera Bradley and wondering how often I would carry it. The red is such a fun color pop & is one that I find myself reaching for all the time.

I’ve never heard of this brand but I can totally see how the dress would be inspired by Reese Witherspoon. the outfit is definitely such a colorful and fun look and I think the shoes look great with the buffalo plaid design.

Looooove those shoes! So retro! The dress is a stunner too, I love how it has pockets cause I am one of those people who finds it odd to not have pockets at any time and it’s such a bonus that it has short sleeves, the sleeveless dresses just don’t suit me well.
