How to Affordably Dress for 4th of July BBQs | A Full Circle Moment
Last week, I got contacted about shooting some social media content for JCPenney; growing up we always got their catalogues and my mom ordered my jeans and all kinds of other clothes from JCPenney. Kind of surreal to remember as I was shooting these photos but also very cool!

I decided that I wanted to shoot some Americana inspired photos and quickly picked out this red t-shirt dress. The star print is obviously perfect for the 4th, but still wearable after too. This outfit came out so cute that I knew I wanted to share it on the blog as well in case any of you are still trying to figure out what to wear next week.
How to Affordably Dress for 4th of July BBQs | Trying Out the Scrunchie Trend
Scrunchies (and hair accessories) are having a BIG moment right now; I’d been resisting them for the most part but decided to get this two pack of hair scrunchies to try out. The blue and white striped hair tie is perfect for wearing during fall game days and I really love how the blue one has a cute bow detail to elevate my everyday high bun. It was easy to do; I used my normal hair ties to throw my hair up into this bun and then slipped the bow scrunchie over the finished top knot.

Not sure I’d wear a scrunchie in a formal or traditional work type environment but I think it’s a fun trend for the weekends and one that makes me feel very young.
How to Affordably Dress for 4th of July BBQs | The Closet Staple I Keep Wearing
For years now my mom’s been telling me that a jean jacket was a closet essential while I kept reminding her that -I- was the style blogger. Finally this spring, I snagged this denim jacket from J. Crew; I love the fit and wash of it and have already worn it a TON. {You win, Mom.} It’s on sale right now so if you’re in the market for a new jean jacket, I’d highly recommend.

I usually stray away from tshirt dresses because I hate how clingy they can be to my hips, but this one is an a-line cut which I think makes it so much more flattering. To keep the Americana look casual, I paired the dress and jean jacket with a pair of white sneakers; love the way they complete the red, white, and blue look.
