Fall is…officially here! With today being the first day of fall, I figured it would be fun to share my short fall list of 7 things I want to do. Plus I’m sharing one of the hottest trends this season in snakeskin and an affordable way to wear it with this a-line dress.

7 Things I Want to Do This Fall in Louisville | Eats & Drinks
Anyone else get really excited about seasonal menus? Last year, I went to Napa River Grill‘s fall menu preview tasting and it was phenomenal. I’m going to this year’s in a couple weeks and am already really excited to see everything they’ve come up with. The seasonal menu should be available to the public around mid-October! If you stop by before then, my current favorites are the Florida Shrimp & Grits, Frondosa Mushroom Carbonara Pasta, and the Blackhawk American Wagyu Steak.

Obviously with fall weather on the way, it’s time to shift our closets! This Thursday I’m hosting a fun #WithATwist event at J. Crew in the Paddock Shops. If you’re local, I’d love to meet you and help you pick out some great new fall closet staples and statement pieces. Over the weekend, I stopped into the store and they had SO many great pieces. {See a sneak peek over on my LIKEtoKNOW.it profile.}

Next up is the grand opening for the third Darling State of Mind store. This was one of the very first local businesses that I partnered with and it’s been so incredible to see them grow. The new store location will be off Shelbyville Road in the same shopping plaza as Trader Joe’s and Nordstrom Rack. It opens Saturday, October 5th and a little birdie told me that there will be really awesome swag bags and deals!

Last fashion related event that I’m excited for this fall is Work the Metal‘s Fall Jewelry Trunk Show! I’ve raved about WTM before but it’s my favorite place to pick affordable jewelry and fun gifts. The jewelry trunk show is on Saturday, October 12th which means there will also be $1 mimosas available all day at the wine bar.

The thing I’m probably -most- excited for this fall is…Louisville Jack O’ Lantern Spectacular. Despite being a Louisvillian for the better part of a decade, last year was the first time I went. And I loved it! There’s over 5,000 professionally carved pumpkins with different themes, music, lighting, etc. It runs from October 8th to November 3rd this year with carvings being rotated throughout the month.

St. James Art Fair is another Louisville event that I enjoy checking out. There’s always unique pieces, fair foods, and lots of fun gifts to be snagged. {Plus its a great way to get your steps in with some friends!}
Finally, I can’t talk about fall things without bringing up Big Blue Madness! Kentucky’s Midnight Madness has long been one of my favorite events; basketball season really is my favorite season. Tickets can be tough to order when they go live, but last year a lot were available from resellers for $5-$10.
7 Things I Want to Do This Fall in Louisville | The Outfit
This month, I got to work with Cato as they introduced their fall line with a heavy focus on denim. While I was shopping for some jeans, I saw this pleated, snakeskin dress. After trying it on, I decided to go ahead and get it. At under $30, it’s a great way to embrace the snakeskin trend that’s -everywhere- this fall! I decided to go fully trendy when putting this outfit together and paired it with my new white boots. Truthfully, I was a little tentative about ordering these, but I actually really like the way they look. The block heel is a snakeskin print too.
