I’m convinced I’m going to be living in summer weather for at least another month, but for the sake of being hopeful that fall is out there, somewhere, headed my way (eventually), I thought I’d wrap up some of my favorite outfits from this summer and how/if I’m planning on taking the clothing items from them into the fall season that officially starts this Wednesday. Anyone else excited about transitioning pieces already in their wardrobe and not just buying new things?
This vest has been on everyone’s fall staples list for 5ever, but I just got around to buying one this summer. Already fighting the urge to wear it every single day, so you can count on it making lots more appearances on the blog. I particularly love it layered over a plaid shirt with white jeans (rule breaker over here hey!)
These sunglasses will definitely continue to be featured as I have severe squinty face if I don’t have them on and I love this Rebecca Minkoff clutch for days when I don’t have a ton to tote around.
I love wearing plaid during the fall and would wear it every single day if that were acceptable; let’s be h0nest, I wear it almost every day anyway. Plaid and flannels are one of my major fall staples.
This jean vest is going to be all over during fall for me. I love being able to layer it over sweater dresses and also when I wear plaid shirts, colored jeans and chinos. Denim vests are one of the many ways that I’m able to add texture and make a look casual.
While this look feels super summery, I totally am planning on layering this peplum under sweater wraps and blazers for Kentucky game days. #BlueGetsIn
I’m a big believer in making my tanks work year round by just throwing things on over them. My Longchamp is one of my favorite bags – it totes everything I need to the gym, can carry all my snacks and a change of clothes when I’m going on a road trip and is a great option to use as a work bag.
This shirt is about to be on major repeat! Olive is the color of fall 2015 and the thick twill material means this shirt can transition through to winter.
This sequin shirt is a staple for me during the holiday season; I’m pretty sure I’ve worn it layered over a gingham button down and underneath my herringbone vest multiple times over the past two years.
Gingham is one of my favorite patterns and I know this dress will look great under a long cardigan with booties. The crochet detail at the hem is a fun touch too.
This camel shirt with white polka dots is perfect for layering and I like the lighter weight chiffon. This skirt is a newer addition to my closet and will definitely get lots of wear this fall. I think it’s going to look great with tights.
Hope you had a great weekend!
