Happy 4th of July; I’ve been busy attempting an Americana icebox cake and hiding out from the rain {boo}, but am wrapping up the Americana style series today with this fun navy gingham dress.

With as hot as it’s been lately, easy breezy dresses have been my jam lately. This one is super easy to throw on when you’re rushing out the door {like I was when I was trying to check out of my hotel on time Sunday morning!} If you wanted to dress it up, you could add in a monogram necklace or a long necklace with some fun and colorful bangles. You can also belt it, if you’re not into the looser fit.

Let’s talk about the wall, shall we? I try to do some research before I go anywhere to see if there’s any must see spots or eats, but this time I looked for fun murals too. Artworks Cincinnati has painted over 40 murals spread throughout downtown, Northern Kentucky, Over the Rhine and other Cincinnati suburbs. Saturday morning I went on the prowl for donuts {more on that in another post coming soon} and couldn’t get over how many colorful, bright and beautiful murals were scattered throughout my mile walk. As someone that has zero artistic talent {seriously, I’m great at putting together outfits, but ask me to draw a stick figure and we’ll both be sad}, I find myself having serious awe and admiration for the teams of talented people that get together with these kinds of visions.

This mural seemed perfect for today’s post with the fun red, white and blue.
I not only wore my hair down this weekend, but I also took the time to curl it, a real rarity in this kind of heat. Luckily, it cooled off a bit this weekend prior to the rain starting up so I was able to enjoy being outside and literally and figuratively could let my hair down.
Wishing you a fun and safe 4th of July! I’ll be back Wednesday with this month’s ‘How I Style It’ blog hop!
