Happy Friday! Hope you had an awesome week. I feel like I spent a lot of mine looking over to do lists and thankfully crossing things off.
This was my first experience with Rent the Runway and I loved it! Next week, I’ll have a whole post dedicated to the company and my experience at their Chicago store, if you have any questions about it!
I picked this dress out for the wedding I attended last weekend — I loved the colors and picking out accessories was easy and fun. My clutch is actually my Kate crossbody minus the strap. This Ashiana London pendant got returned to Rocksbox this week but got quite a bit of wear; don’t forget you can sign up for the service and start with a free month when you use code whatnicoleworexoxo at checkout.
-I’ve been compensated by Rocksbox in the form of two free 3 month subscriptions. All opinions are my own.-
1. This cotton candy frappuccino #yaaaassss.
2. It’s honestly been so hot here lately. I always talk about how much I love summer but we’re starting to reach that time of year where all I want to do is be in my swimsuit because clothing is too much.
3. My shorts are on major sale so, scoot your boot and go get some.
My obsession with anything druzy is still going strong, but I find myself wishing more retailers (and boutiques and Etsy stores) would offer options for those of us cursed with baby wrists.
I saw a customer wearing these shorts in the golden rod/mustard yellow color they were also made in and had to pull mine out the next day. I usually don’t think to tuck into these shorts but she’d tucked and belted her black tee shirt into it and I really liked the look so I pulled out an old striped tank and then my denim vest to complete the look.
I wasn’t planning on jewelry but I pulled on my tassel necklace and really liked the added color it gave to the outfit. It’s so wild how completer pieces can make an outfit go from blah to WOW.
This “shirt” is actually a dress and is the dress I wore to the Kentucky Oaks two years ago. In case you don’t know, Oaks is the race held the day before Derby and always is a pink out as some of the proceeds go towards breast cancer research. I’d already picked out a dress that year when I stumbled across this one at a consignment store; I really like the layers and color so I ended up buying this one for pretty cheap and returning the other one.
My necklace is super old. I picked this up at a Charming Charlie when they first started opening and my mom liked it so much that I gave it to her. Not too long after she was at a different location and saw the same necklace so she bought it and gave it to me. I’m pretty sure we’ve both worn these more than enough but I love the mixed, hammered metals and thought it looked really clean with this outfit.
I’ve been feeling kind of uninspired this week when I’ve walked into my closet to get dressed and to make matters worse, I’m trying to curb my clothes spending over the next month (send help). I pulled on a couple of different outfits before settling on this one.
My tank is pretty old but has only been worn a handful of times; it gets super wrinkly but I’m horrid with an iron so the new steamer has restored life to this piece. One day, I want to splurge on the one I get to use at work, but for now I’ll stick to my much less expensive handheld. These pants make the outfit look a lot more planned out than it actually was and still are one of my favorites even if I hadn’t worn them in almost two months.
It’s crazy to believe, but I’ve had this necklace since February and hadn’t worn it once. I wasn’t sure if it would go with this outfit but love the subtle mix of pattern the leopard print adds to the outfit. I also love the price, under $10 + free shipping, guys!
Picking out what jewelry to wear at work is always a highlight of my shift, creating an arm party or perfectly layered necklaces is so fun to me. Of course, picking out the best sale items to display, helping customers create the perfect outfit and listening to people’s style struggles is fun too.
Happy weekending!
