The lovely Carrie Grace opened up some spots in her necklace club — join in April and you’ll receive a gold ampersand necklace like the one I’m wearing above in addition to your monthly necklace. Score!
I’m not sure when layering necklaces became a thing that I do, but I don’t hate it and it’s made me branch out a little with some dainty pieces that I’m currently loving. I hemmed and hawed about purchasing my drusy wrap cuff but am so glad I did – I wear it all the time and always get compliments on it. It’s not currently available online (Versona just launched online shopping *insert praise hands emoji*) but is available in stores in two colors. This navy lace dress is something I picked up with a Charlotte Russe gift card I got for Christmas — I love that the sleeves and very bottom of the hem are open lace but it’s a little short for work or church so I slipped my J. Crew Factory geometric pencil skirt on over it. I think the mix of texture and pattern is kind of fun but still subtle.
This Charming Charlie necklace has gotten so much airtime in 2015. So glad I didn’t put it in the donate pile last year! Gold goes with everything and while the necklace does have a lot going on, it also is one color which makes it easy to throw in to an outfit without it being overwhelming.
Also, say hey to my new rain boots! I haven’t owned a pair in about 6 years but finally decided to commit since it has been raining all. the. time. Word to the wise, they do run big, I sized down to an 8 and still have lots of wiggle room.
I snagged this muscle tank for $5! It’s real comfy and light with a racerback cut. They had a couple other ones with cute sayings about glitter and parties. I haven’t tried everything but the new(ish) Forever 21 athletic wear line is a new love. The cropped leggings are super flattering on me — I was super surprised since F21 can be kind of finicky in sizing and I wasn’t sure how it would go over my thick thighs. 10/10 would definitely recommend!
I was lying in bed, unable to sleep, when I thought of this combo and didn’t think it would work with the different shades of green and teal. I actually ended up really liking it when I tried it on the next morning. This necklace holds a special place in my heart since it was the very first item (and necklace) I ever purchased on eBay….oh to be young, naive and spending way too much on costume jewelry again.
It was such a strange day — when I left the house for work it was raining, when I left work at 2, it was sunny and I looked silly in rain boots. Typical. I swapped my rain boots for loafers to go to a job interview (ahh!). My Vera locket doesn’t actually have any pictures inside but I think the orange and pink chevron is kind of fun and definitely springy.
My friend Shannon (@shannonsa) did a “Tribal Thursday” theme with her weekly challenge so I pulled out my trusty Sun Valley scarf as well as some of my navy and white favorites.
Hoping you had a great week! I’m planning on a relaxed day off: hitting the gym, making a fresh smoothie and watching the Bruce Jenner interview, of course!
Happy weekend!
xo,
Nicole
