Hello! I’m back from vacation and wanted to get an instagram roundup out, since a lot of the items I’ve worn recently are on sale this weekend!
I wore this comfy get up on my flights from Louisville to Newark and Newark to Milan, then a train from Milan to Florence. By the time, I got to the hotel I felt like a big ball of hot mess express. Hopefully, it wasn’t as obvious to everyone else. #OilyTransAtlanticFlightSkin
I love how clean the black and white stripes look here and thought they really “popped” against the pineapple print.
I have a large tendency to be forgetful when distracted so I decided I wanted to leave my Michael Kors watch at home and bring something I wouldn’t feel so sad about breaking, losing, having stolen, accidentally wearing in the shower, etc.
Francesca’s had a buy one, get one 1/2 off promo on accessories before I left so I snatched this black and white geometric print watch that I’ve had my eye on as well as a cute bicycle one.
This arm party’s cute, but that view?
This houndstooth print popover is so fun! I paired it with my trusty chino shorts and the sneakers I picked up in Florence for a hot day with lots of walking.
My dad and brother decided they wanted to climb to the top of the Bell Tower in Florence but mom and I were not about that life (and rightfully so).
I talked her into splitting a two scoop gelato with me and let my pasty legs get some color.
I pulled the maxi back out when we went to Bologna for the day. The shirt was a nice touch, but I did end up pulling it off and going bare shoulders when we wandered in the heat.
I usually wear my “heaviest” items on the day I’m traveling so that I don’t have to stuff them into my luggage. Italy was hot as ____. (My mom reads my blog sometimes.)
So instead of jeans — I pulled this on and loved the classic look of khaki with gingham.
My pineapple dress got remixed every which way on this trip. I’m admittedly kind of burnt out on all the clothes I took, but know I’ll eventually come back to this fun, summer pattern.
Also – rest in paradise, $4 sunglasses. Hope you found a cute boy to run wild with in Milan since I did not.
This necklace, again. I was itching to get back to my collection by the end of this trip, but this one’s still a fave.
The good thing about having such a limited wardrobe is that there’s no confusion as to what you’re going to wear when you wake up at 4:15 in the morning. This outfit kept me cozy and warm on my flights to Brussels and London.
The only scarf I brought with me was this pashmina and it was perfect when we got to cooler weather. I started out the day with just my gingham button down and jeans and quickly realized that just wasn’t going to be enough. I pulled my sweater that had been hiding in the bottom of my suitcase out and layered it up.
My dad bought this jacket for me when we were in Paris, two years ago. I knew it had been a lightweight and easy to pack way of keeping me warm so I threw it in my bag for this trip.
My parents both gave me a hard time about how much orange I traveled with, but I think 1. You can make it look good (pictured above) and 2. Always make it easy for your friends and family to spot you in crowds. Since I’m not 6’2 and sporting a distinctive ‘fro like my brother, orange it is.
Blogging (instagramming?) has provided me with some really fun opportunities on top of inspiring me and allowing me to connect with others that are passionate about personal style.
I’m always super grateful for my friends that are supportive and was honestly so tickled when my friend, Emily, sent me a text to let me know this photo had been featured on the Vera Bradley account — especially since I’d been out and hadn’t seen it!
Arm parties + landmarks became my thing this trip. Perhaps on future, #WhereNicoleWent excursions?
Shoutout to Nike for making the most comfortable sneakers ever. Steph posted about having Nike Frees for working out and they’d made their way to the bottom of my ‘if I keep working out, I’ll treat myself to:’ list, but I have to say these were a true foot saver on my 10-20 mile walking days.
Ok, I love this pairing. I know, I know — I’m more of a patterns and more patterns kind of gal. I really like how the geometric print pops against the red, though.
Also the shirt and watch match. Unintended but a nice touch.
I honestly, genuinely, really felt so tired of posting the same clothes for two weeks so I broke out an old unposted outfit.
Eventually, I will have to break up with this skirt and send it away to the land of donated clothes, but that day is not today so.
This necklace is never coming on vacation with me again since this was the only time I wore it…for half a day.
Hope you’ve had a great couple of weeks! Happy Memorial Day weekend,
Xo, Nicole
