Weeee wooo! I’m home from Chicago (woof what a weekend) and happy to be settling in to watch some basketball tonight!
I’ll be talking all about my adventures in Chicago, including the IG meet up, on this week’s Travel Tuesday post.
As I was running around Louisville to buy sunglasses for the trip and some last minute additions to a hostess gift for Michelle, I really went for comfort. It was 85 this day (kill me) so I opted for a lightweight blouse and my chino shorts.
I’m head over heels for this new necklace from Siramara. I really love the stone in the middle with the spikes.
I ordered this shirt from the KY shop because I love all things donuts and it shipped in time for National Donut Day. I’ve visited Chicago a few times now and knew I’d be walking a lot so I wore my Nikes up so that I wouldn’t have aching or swollen feet.
If you’ve followed the blog or on Instagram, you know that I bought this pair of Nikes in Italy (for a pretty penny). I had originally planned on bringing my other Nikes (Air Pegasus), but my Free Runs are so comfortable. I really can’t say enough good things about them – my foot feels like it is encased in a cloud. I haven’t been a sneaker wearer since elementary school when I wore mine every day but these shoes really make me want to add sneakers to my wardrobe.
Sadly, the Chicago weather did not want to cooperate with my desired aesthetic goals so my curled hair went from mildly wind blown to windblown straight and I caved in the cool weather and purchased this coat at Nordstrom Rack.
I’d seen it at the Rack by my house in black and debated purchasing it to take on my trip but ultimately didn’t label it as a need. I also tried to cut back on my shopping prior to my vacation just because I knew I’d be spending money on the trip.
But, when I saw this in tan and at a better price while I was in need of a coat, it came home with me. I love that it kind of has a classic trench look, is water repellant (perfect for summer) and is lightweight but still provides some warmth.
I debated for forever on what to wear to the meet up, so much pressure you know? These are the people who see all of your good and bad outfit days. I eventually decided to go for a very classic, Nicole look with the gingham button down (seriously my faves) and gave it a summery feel by pairing with white jeans. Again, I brought sandals but ya girl is not trying to walk a mile in shoes that aren’t going to treat my feet like the angels they are.
Hope you had a great weekend!
Xo, Nicole
