Y’all no lies told in this space — I’m still recovering from this weekend! Luckily, I’ve had this Derby look sitting in my drafts for a few weeks now. While traditionally women wear dressed for Derby and Oaks, today I’m sharing the cutest printed blue jumpsuit.
Friday and Saturday, I volunteered at the Authors in the Bluegrass event in Lexington. Trashy romance novels are by far my biggest “guilty” pleasure, so getting to meet some of the authors I love to read and chat with many more was an awesome experience. Keep reading for more of my latest Derby look as well as a really cool view of an empty Commonwealth Stadium.

Blue Jumpsuit | What’s the Skinny?
Being pear-shaped, I tend to avoid jumpsuits and anything culotte, but this printed blue jumpsuit has me changing my mind. The mix of blue and orange is so fun for spring and I love that I was able to pair this look with a dramatic navy fascinator. If you’re looking to stand out in your Derby attire, I like the traditional aspects that the print provides while taking on an entirely different silhouette. The cutout is cute while still keeping everything covered and it has pockets! What more could you need really?
Blue Jumpsuit | Devil’s in the details.
We all know that nude and black heels go with just about every look. While I normally shy away from patent leather, this pair has held up well with minimal scuffs. At $35, the price is right too! I’m wearing a little more makeup than my norm; I really enjoy this eyeshadow palette from LORAC. With a variety of matte, glitter and shimmer neutrals, you can create a look for every occasion.

Thank you Ryann! I do too; while I love being girly I think a jumpsuit would be such a fun way to stand out.
