Happy Monday friends! Yesterday, I watched the Super Bowl and to be totally honest it was kind of a dud. If you’re a Patriots fan you may disagree, but everything from the actual game to the commercials to the half time show were a huge MEH in my view. In the spirit of reclaiming my time, it felt like a great time to share 10 things more exciting than watching the Super Bowl.

10 Things More Exciting Than Watching the Super Bowl | The Writing
Last week, I shared an article about white privilege and what it actually is on my Instagram Story as well as my personal Facebook page. It obviously can be touchy for some people that don’t understand the definition, but I was so touched by how many friends and followers both read the piece and reached out with their thoughts and reactions.

- First thing I could have done that would have been more exciting than watching the Super Bowl: written a really thoughtful blog post about black history month and my experiences with institutional racism. While I’ve written about race a few times here, I always feel guilty sharing some of the negative experiences I’ve had because I know they’re nothing compared to what others face. But I’m hoping to write an open post about it sometime this month.
10 Things More Exciting Than Watching the Super Bowl | The Reading
Over the weekend I got to go to a book signing for Colene and finally picked up a copy of her book! The signing was very cozy and personal where we were able to ask questions and discuss some of the subject matter of her book, Monday Morning Pep Talks.

2. I’ve always loved reading, but I think digging into this would have been much more exciting than the lackluster, shutout of a first quarter. Planning on taking some time out of my Monday to read a chapter and process. I’ve been on a reading kick lately; what have y’all been reading?
10 Things More Exciting Than Watching the Super Bowl | The Snacks
My boyfriend had been talking about Buffalo Chicken Dip for the past couple of days so I made some in the crock pot for us to snack on during the game. Any recipe that I can make in the slow cooker or InstantPot is a winner in my book because I love easy cooking (and cleanup!) I use this recipe, but don’t add garlic powder and sub the cooked chicken for 2 cans of canned chicken, drained.

3. Seeing as we ended up finishing an entire bag of tortilla scoop chips, picking up another bag of chips for the game wouldn’t have been a bad idea.
10 Things More Exciting Than Watching the Super Bowl | The Halftime Entertainment
Can we talk about the halftime show for a second? I like Maroon 5, own a physical copy of Songs about Jane, sing and dance to their popular jams. But with the game being in Atlanta, I really expected some Atlanta artists… Ludacris? Usher? T.I.? Both halves of OutKast? IDK, I thought it was an improvement from the Justin Timberlake performance but still pretty bland.

4. To spice things up, I could have spent the time the game was on learning all of the Beychella choreography so that I was ready to steal the spotlight at the next Super Bowl.

I’m a list maker so I’m usually mentally making lists even when I should be relaxing. {Before anyone is like OMG, I’ve discussed this with my therapist at great length. We’re working on it but I am a horrible meditator.} For full transparency, I knew there was a small chance that I would get bored during the Super Bowl and brought my laptop so that I could edit photos. So some of the workaholic-y things I could have knocked out that still would have been more exciting than that game:

5. Scheduled my social media posts for this entire week.
6. Finally taken my laundry out of the dryer and actually put it away.
7. Hung up the gallery wall for my home office. {The pieces are SO cute but I’ve been putting this off for months now because I’m scared of hanging them wrong.}
8. Finished sorting through my donate, sell, trash pile of clothes! Making decent progress here but hoping to really dig into my closet this week.
9. Saturday, I went through my personal email account and took the emails from 10,000+ to just over 150. SHEER BLISS. I luckily had the foresight to have separate email accounts for my blog, my volunteer position, and my personal life/sale emails, but it still gets out of hand sometimes.
10 Things More Exciting Than Watching the Super Bowl | The Fun Watch
So what would I have watched on TV if not the Super Bowl? Glad you asked! Pretty sure, I’d rewatch one of the Fyre Festival documentaries again. Both are very entertaining so if you have Hulu and Netflix, be sure to watch them. {Other recent watches include: Conversations with a Killer: the Ted Bundy Tapes, Dogs, & Abducted in Plain Sight.}

10. Binge watching something on Netflix…but probably not YOU because it freaked me out a little/got kind of predictable?
10 Things More Exciting Than Watching the Super Bowl | The Outfit
Big, big fan of bodysuits around this part and finally grabbed one in black! {I wear my white bodysuit from this post ALL the time.} What I love about bodysuits is the versatility. You can wear it under a blazer with dress pants for the office, with a skirt for a dressier weekend look, or with jeans for a casual date night or brunch with the girls. This one has cute mesh sleeves with some fun polka dot detailing.

I added some fun touches to the outfit with my red heart sunglasses (an under $10 Gordman’s find), my Rebecca Minkoff bag, and some super cute flats from Express (another Gordman’s find!).
