Happy happy Thursday! I am taking my last final of the summer quarter today and could not feel anymore #blessed to be done and free from school for the next two weeks.

Today, I’m sharing two different outfits with this sleeveless tee shirt dress from SheIn.
Depending on where you work, tee shirt dresses may or may not be appropriate work wear. Working part-time in retail gives me a lot of dress code flexibility, but I try to elevate the pieces I wear. What I’ve learned over time is that it is possible to make a tee shirt, or in this case a tee shirt dress, look dressier than it does hanging in your closet.
I’ve been loving all of the fall color that retailers are cranking out by the day it seems like and this simple olive dress immediately found it’s way onto my wish list. I briefly talked about breaking the white after Labor Day rule in yesterday’s post, but I am not someone that packs their whites away on Labor Day evening. The fashion rule seems to become more and more obsolete each year although I will say that I enjoy seeing retailers mark down all of their white items around this time.
I love how crisp white is when paired with fall hues, so I threw my white streamlined blazer on over this tank dress and broke out my white crystal tassel necklace. A good cognac leather tote is a fall staple for me because the color plays so well with the popular fall hues.
This second look is definitely more casual take on how to accessorize your tee shirt dresses, but I love wearing an outfit like this during the fall weekends when I may be going to football games, farmers markets or visiting a pumpkin patch. When it cools down a little more it’s perfect to throw on with a suede or leather jacket too.
Blanket scarves are here to stay for at least another year; admittedly, here in the Bluegrass it’s too hot to really justify breaking them out yet. {Although I did take one to put over my lap in an aggressively air conditioned classroom recently.} I have a few different colors of this popular fall staple, but this one with the navy, burgundy and mustard yellow throughout the plaid really screams fall to me. This watch has a thinner leather strap and silver hardware; one of the best things about it is that the watch straps seem to be a bit shorter and so it fits my wrist really well.
Part of what drew me to this crossbody bag from Tignanello was the unique color; I just said above how cognac handbags are a fall staple and while I love the classic neutral, it does seem like this is the time of year when handbag retailers really push cognac and black. A girl’s gotta have some options! This teal green shade is dark enough to be fall appropriate but still stands out.
And finally, to round out this more laid back look, I wore these cognac heeled ankle boots. These are pretty heavy duty, the leather is thick and the block heel is the perfect “not too high, not too short” height.
Thank you to SheIn and Tignanello Handbags for partnering with me on this post. As always, all opinions expressed are my own.
