Sigh, college basketball season….is over. It hurts me to even write the words, friends. Admittedly, I shed a few tears when Kentucky lost to Wisconsin over the weekend. To end a great basketball season, I wanted to recap two of my favorite gameday outfits. I asked my sweet friend, Kelly, who is also a huge Kentucky fan to share hers too!
As seen on Instagram: What I Wore
What I wore this week:
When I first tried on this dress, I knew I wanted to wear it for Easter this year. I really felt my Sunday Best in this pretty get up from She Inside. The fit is very true to the measurements on the site, so if in doubt pull out the tape measure. You can try your first month of Rocksbox for free with code nicoleBFF503 – you’ll love it!
Try It Out: My Second Rocksbox
My second Rocksbox was amazing! I received the Kendra Scott Hayden Necklace in Gold Iridescent Drusy, Perry Street Becca Necklace and the House of Harlow 1960 Trapezio Cuff. Sadly, I have baby wrists and the cuff was just too big. I’m considering changing my Rocksbox preferences so that I don’t receive bracelets going forward and love that I have the option. [Read more…]
Try It Out: My First Rocksbox
I started using Rocksbox at the beginning of March. I wasn’t sure what to think of it when it started popping up on my instagram feed, but when the company reached out offering me the opportunity to be a Rocksbox It Girl, I figured I’d give it a try.
For those of you not familiar, Rocksbox is a jewelry subscription service — think Netflix but for dainty cuffs, statement necklaces and some of your favorite brands, like Kendra Scott and Loren Hope. When you sign up to be a Shine Insider, you take a style quiz that tells your stylist more about the style of jewelry you wear. You get to decide if you want a mix of everything or can opt to just get necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings.
Both of these items were included in my first box. The Rosalie Crystal Ring and Avery Necklace are both by Perry Street; I also received the Palm Cili Collar in Silver by Jenny Bird. [Read more…]
Ways to Wear: Navy Polka Dot Button Down
One of the things I always ask myself when I find a piece of clothing I like while shopping is, ‘What are different ways you can wear this piece with items already in your closet?’
More than anything else, I’ve found this is a way to prevent myself from buying pieces that don’t transition well or can only be worn one way. I like to get the most bang for my buck and so you can expect to see this ‘Ways to Wear’ series quite frequently.
I bought this shirt a little over a year ago and never imagined it would be as versatile as it has been. It is sold out, but I’m linking some similar options in case you decide you need one.
3. Straight Cut Shirt in Dark Blue/Dotted
The polka dot button down is usually my solution when I don’t know what to wear. In a previous blogging excursion, I participated in a 30 x 30 challenge (30 items of clothing used to create 30 different outfits) and I know if I were ever to do that again, I would definitely use this shirt. It’s perfect for pattern mixing as seen here.
The double dots are fun and bright and the striped vest is a fun way to pattern mix and still stay warm. This J Crew Inspired vest was purchased from Adorabelles, a boutique that a friend of mine runs.
Keeping up with the navy and white theme, I broke out this skirt as a pattern mixing look that color matches.
Which is your favorite look?
xo,
Nicole
