Happy Saturday! This week was a little quiet due to my death midterms happening. I’m excited to get back to the regular schedule blog grind next week but wanted to pop in, apologize for being MIA and leave you with this long overdue Instagram roundup. There’s lots of good sales happening this weekend to check out!
Lace Up Pom Pom Sandals
This striped romper is super cute but always gets wrinkly so quickly, womp womp. Still it’s very comfortable, one of the few rompers that fits me and has adjustable straps.
While I appreciate neutrals {really I do!}, I am definitely more of a color kinda gal. One of the best things about neutrals, in my humble opinion, is how easy it is to incorporate colorful accessories. While I did go for a print mixing outfit, I love the way the white and blue ratio is flipped between the shorts of this romper and the polka dot chambray shirt. I knew I wanted to wear my new colorful lace up sandals and so my rainbow tassel clutch seemed like the perfect bag to go with this outfit.
Button down shirts are pretty much my bread and butter when it comes to closet staples; they’re easy to dress up or down, come in so many different colors and prints and really are just appropriate for each and every occasion. Work? Button down. Casual dinner out? Button down. Tucked into a skirt for a flirty date night look? Button down. Basically, what I’m saying is buy all the button downs. {Because I do….}
Of course we have to talk about these amazing sandals. I first saw this style last summer and when spring rolled around, I knew I had to have a pair. They come in a wide variety of colors and prices; these ones from SheIn are just $36 {with free shipping – my fave!} which is such a steal compared to the $150 pair I had my eye on. I’m a pretty true 8.5 in shoes and am wearing the EUR 39 here. I will share that these are not the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever put on, but in my experience with lace ups, they rarely are. The lace up straps on these are easy to tie and adjust around your foot and don’t cut into your legs too badly thanks to the thicker faux leather straps.
Tara Lynn’s Colorblock Top
For whatever reason I’ve been in a tired, ‘please don’t make me get out of bed,’ ‘do I really have to?’ kind of funk this week and I’m pretty much ready to wrap this week up, put a bow on it and start all over. Why can’t I just snuggle up in bed and pretend it’s the weekend every day?
I’ve added so many new pieces of jewelry to my wardrobe lately; like I said in this post, with the temperature {and even worse the humidity} going up, up and away lately, I’ve been drawn to easy, lightweight outfits that I can breathe in {and at times peacefully sweat in…life.} I’m not a huge fan of statement necklaces this time of year because they can get heavy and just seem like a lot once the real temperatures and humidity of the day start to show up. This blue Y necklace has a super lightweight chain that doesn’t get sticky with sweat or tangled in hair and has a cute gold chain tassel at the end as well as a couple of pave beads to add some sparkle. Rings are not the most summer friendly jewelry item for me {#sweatyhands} but this open gemstone ring is so cute and the perfect colors for me.
This top is perfect with it’s bright summer hues and very light and breathable fabric. It could easily be styled with jean shorts or cropped pants if the thought of wearing jeans is too daunting right now. I love the colorblock detail but the red-orange stripes really drew my eye and are such a fun touch for summer. Plus it matches perfectly with my bag and now I can trick people into thinking I have my life together.
Gold and mint seem like a match made in heaven. I love stretch bracelets and they’re super to easy to wear alone or stack if you have baby wrists like me.

Adorn Apparel: Summer Floral Dress
I absolutely love the dress that I’m featuring today because it has so many possibilities: you can throw a jean jacket over it for a more casual look or wear it out for dinner or drinks. One of the awesome things about it is that it’s under $45!
I’m not always into being matchy-matchy, but I couldn’t get over how perfectly my new tassel pieces matched with this turquoise floral print. I also pulled on this pink and orange stretch bracelet as a way to add in some more fun color. I love that the florals in this print have such vibrant and eye catching colors.
I wore my suede fringe wedges to bring a bit of a bohemian vibe into this look, but you could easily dress it up with a strappy nude {or hot pink} heel or dress it down with flat sandals. The number of colors in this print make it easy to choose a complementary color and run with it.
I’ve gone over the whole ‘I’m dark, I want my dresses lined’ rant a number of times and I’m happy to report that this dress is lined (HOORAY!) and also features a super cute neckline. The subtle halter shows off some shoulder and has a fun keyhole detail on the back.
Completely unrelated but how awesome do my nails look here?! I wish I had the time, patience, not messy life to rock white nails all. the. time.
Bicycle Graphic Tee & Vera Bradley Tess Crossbody
Cheers to Monday! I spent most of my weekend at the gym {#WhoAmI} and putting off studying for the test I have this week, but the kickoff and highlight of my weekend was a super sweet package from Vera Bradley featuring some of their brand new fall items that launched last Tuesday! Over the past couple years, they have stepped up their design game big time and released leather styles that are absolutely stunning while maintaining the convenience that brand lovers have come to expect with their products.
This bag is available in several different colors and fabrications, such as cognac & black leather, and a couple of different prints too. You can snag the leather bag on sale in lilac {under $100!} and white {almost 40% off!} right now! I love this one because it brings in burgundy which is always such a big color for fall and the black piping is fabulous.
Almost immediately, I knew that I wanted to create an outfit around my new bag and this super cute graphic tee. At $12 it’s a great deal and the fit is really comfortable; I did go up to a small in this one just so it was a bit looser. This outfit also would be super fun with a button-front denim {or suede} skirt for a more casual look.
These skirts go with everything and are super easy to wear. My only knock against them is that the linen material wrinkles super easily. Luckily, it’s very easy to steam, but it’s not a piece I’d travel with.
