It’s Wednesday and I’m spending my day at Churchill Downs! Today, I’m wearing one of my favorite Draper James dresses to the track in the lead up to Kentucky Derby. To sweeten up Derby week, I’ve also teamed up with some bloggers for a giveaway. Be sure to check out today’s other post to enter!

What to Wear at Churchill Downs & a Giveaway | About the Dress
Like I said, this dress may be my favorite Draper James piece ever! Please believe that any chance I get to wear it, I’ll take. When I found out that I was going to the track for Spring Day at the Downs, I immediately thought of this dress and started brainstorming ways I could put together the perfect fascinator to go with the dress. The cherry print features navy, teal green, pink, and red which gave me lots of color options to accessorize with.

Of course another reason I love this dress so much is the super flattering fit and flare. Most of my Love Circle Dresses are sleeveless so it’s nice having one that does have sleeves.
What to Wear at Churchill Downs & a Giveaway | The Fascinator
Last week, I ordered a red fascinator off Amazon so that it would quickly arrive and then proceeded to head to Dee’s, a local craft store. They carry just about every Derby hat supply you could think of so I brought my dress to the store to look for tulle, feathers, ribbons, etc. that would match the colors in my dress.

The white feathers were the last thing I picked up and different from the supplies I normally buy, but I love how they transformed this red fascinator! The end result is a a geometric red and white fascinator that matches the dress so well. Also have to give props to these teal feathers that match the leaves of the cherry print perfectly.

With this being one of my favorite dresses, I -had- to buy these cherry statement earrings from the Baublebar for Target line. It looks like they’re currently sold out online, but be sure to check to see if your local Target has them in stock. To add onto the fun, novelty print, I pulled out my red heart sunglasses to match.
I love a fun print and so this outfit is all about them. Click To TweetRELATED: Watermelon Purse
