Thursday, I love ya. This week has been a real doozy and all I really want to do is snuggle up in this oversized colorblock cape and forget about it. Ok, and also maybe shop a little bit. Retail therapy is real therapy — don’t tell me otherwise.
Colorblock Cape | In This Post
So here’s the skinny on styling a colorblock cape:
Capes and ponchos have been having a major moment this year. And what’s not to love? The oversized staple that everyone from Prada to Target is carrying stays true to the comfortable vibes that are so popular in winter fashion. If you remember, I styled a fun colorblock cape last fall {here} and was smitten by how easy it was to throw on over my basic swing tees.
Similarly, this colorblock cape jumped out at me with its colorful squares. The white whipstitch looks much more refined than the $20 price tag and is reversible. I threw mine over this white bow blouse from Wild Blue Denim to take a classic white top and jeans look up a level.
The nitty gritty:
My colorblock cape is rich in color and I played off of that by putting on a pair of yellow and marble statement earrings. One of the best things about this bow blouse is that it takes out the necessity of a necklace. Finally, to finish out the look I went with staple pieces. Karen Walker’s Number One sunglasses are my favorite splurge that I made in 2016. Lately, I’m reaching for this tech charger bag from Francesca’s so that I can stay connected.
