I hope that you had a great weekend; mine was pretty laid back for the most part and even got to meet up with Tif yesterday to grab brunch. I was so excited to be able to meet up and talk about life as well as blog things & it really made me realize I need to make a trip out to Lexington before too long to see her again (: It’s nice to have people to talk to that understand the highs and lows that come with blogging. As supportive as my family and friends are, I know sometimes they don’t always get why I’m excited or disappointed about certain things.

There’s a few different elements of this outfit that I want to discuss but I’ll start with the poncho; between the stitching and the bold mustard yellow included in this colorblock, I knew I wanted this poncho for fall. The blush-beige and brown provide a neutral subtly that can go with most items in your closet, but I love that the mustard yellow really makes it a piece that’s for fall. The bold stitching is eye-catching and makes this piece look more expensive than it is. This piece is a square that’s been cut so that it’s easy to drape over your shoulders and is a heavier, dense sweater like fabric that makes it perfect for cooler weather.
I decided to wear it over my striped swing top. I’ve styled this top a ton of times over on Instagram {think I’m lying? Check it out here, here, here, here, here and here.} since I first purchased it. I’m a big believer that you can never have too many striped tees, but I love this one because of the fitted arms and flowy bodice that makes it comfortable to wear and easy to dress up or down.
Lastly, this black choker necklace has been in heavy rotation since I first got it last month. It’s comfortable: not itchiness around the neck or fears of actually choking. The black and gold makes it super versatile too. I’ve worn it a ton and almost always get a handful of compliments on it as well as questions about where to find one. If you’re not sure about the choker comeback, I’d recommend starting with one like this that encompasses the choker trend but also looks like a traditional long necklace too.

Aww! It was fun! It definitely makes a difference to talk the blog talk. . .sometimes I’ll be so excited about something, and have to stop freaking out long enough to explain why it’s a big deal.lol. cute outfit. I love what a statement the poncho makes!
