Happy, happy Monday! This weekend, it finally felt like spring and it was amazing. I am 100% a warm weather lover so getting back to sunshiney, 70 degree days is an actual dream come true. Last week, I had the chance to stop by Darling State of Mind, a local boutique here in Louisville that’s in Westport Village. I picked out a couple of different pieces including the tie waist shorts and chambray and linen top that I’m wearing in today’s post. Read on for more information on how they’re celebrating their one year anniversary!

What’s the skinny on Darling State of Mind?
Darling State of Mind is a boutique here in Louisville that carries a wide variety of clothing, jewelry, accessories, home decor and gifts. This upcoming weekend {April 14-16}, they are celebrating turning one. The first 50 customers to spend $50 will each get a bag that will have a tee shirt and a $10 gift certificate. If you’re like me and always running late {#NoShame}, no worries. The store has a ton of great door busters including: $1 matte lipsticks, $2 face masks and $5 pocket tees.
Darling State of Mind had so many cute pieces, I actually picked out a really cute dress for Easter while I was there. With warm weather on my mind, I snagged these cute chambray shorts as well as this linen and chambray tank. I love that the tank has the fraying around the neckline and arms giving it a fun bit of texture.
Devil’s in the details.
The tortoise shell bracelet was the very first thing that I picked up when I went into Darling State of Mind. I love neutral pieces with a fun twist like the leopard on this bracelet because it takes your everyday staple and makes it a conversation starter. Speaking on conversation pieces — this watermelon bag is one of my favorite recent additions to my closet. While my purse collection has definitely expanded over the past couple years, this bag has my heart right now because of how perfect it is for spring and summer. I doubled the chain around the flap to change it from crossbody length to a shoulder bag. This is by far one of my favorite tricks for getting extra mileage out of my handbags.
Since I’d already set up a classic red, white and blue color palette, I pulled out my trusty red bandana. While you can find bandana chokers and necklaces at most of your favorite retailers, mine is just a plain old bandana from Hobby Lobby. I folded it down to a width I liked and then used my iron and starch spray to get it to stay that width. With a classic bandana you can tie it as tight or loose as you like and it gives you a lot of styling options.
