Beating the Blues + 5 Favorite Diffuser Blends | The Color
Chenille is a texture that has been huge this fall and winter. As many of you know, I’m actively working on diversifying the colors in my closet and have been making an effort to order colors outside of my comfort zone. {AKA not blue.} This pretty shade of rusty orange adds some color to the usual black, white, and gray that you see this time of year.

Even better, the sweater is insanely soft while still making you look put together. I like the loose sleeves and the scalloped hem on this sweater. So what makes chenille so awesome? It’s beyond comfortable – seriously this is the softest sweater I’ve ever worn. I definitely want to grab a chenille cardigan now because it’s perfect for lounging.

Wearing sweaters every single day can get old quick so I try to change things up by working in different color combinations. I’ve paired this rust colored sweater with my favorite turquoise statement necklace and went with this white beaded necklace here. This necklace is part of the Baublebar for Target collection and is super affordable too. I really did love how the turquoise looked with the burnt orange so I pulled out these turquoise and gold tassel earrings here.

Beating the Blues + 5 Favorite Diffuser Blends | Winter Blues & How to Deal With Them
Feeling down after the hustle and bustle of the holidays is completely normal and so I normally try to combat the blues by just being super aware that they’re coming. While exercise is one of the number one things that makes me feel better, lately it’s been so cold that I have zero desire to go to the gym.

Some things that help me to not get dragged into a long winter funk:
- Getting out of the house regularly // Sometimes this is as small as going to Target or the grocery store.
- Eating {somewhat} healthily // I don’t even go as far as cutting sweets, but I try to focus on my water intake and getting vegetables every day.
- A quick morning and nighttime yoga session // I use this morning routine and this moon salutation
- Decluttering! // I always have an excess of boxes, trash, etc. after the holidays so reorganizing and getting things back where they belong helps me to not be as anxious
- Getting enough sleep! // I struggle with shutting off my mind at bedtime, but I’ve been listening to the ‘Sleep With Me’ podcast this week and it’s actually worked? I’ll try to remember to share an update after a couple weeks.
Beating the Blues + 5 Favorite Diffuser Blends | Essential Oils
My mom was the person that dragged me down the essential oil path; I’m not into adding them to food or drink, but I love diffusing them. For Christmas my brother got me a starter set and I’ve been playing chemist and making different blends.
