A few years ago, I participated in a No Shop January and found it to be a great way for me to slow down my fun spending, save money, be more appreciative of what I have and remix the items already in my closet. I decided about a week into this January, that I should do the same thing. So far, so good — I’ve had a few tempting moments, but I’m pretty determined to make it to February.
I am styling this vest for the first time on the blog & in the sake of full disclosure, I purchased it before I’d decided to do a No Shop Month. It was a great deal on Jane and I couldn’t resist. The last thing I really needed was another vest, but oh well.
I paired this navy buffalo check vest up with my tan colored polka dot blouse; the pattern mix is fun but having white in each piece keeps it from being too busy. My blouse was a great clearance find at Old Navy around five years ago, I wasn’t sure how often I’d wear it since I’m not always a big fan of tan and camel on my skintone, but it was less than $10 so I just went for it. And voila, all these layers I still have it and am still wearing it. {Old Navy, please bring back your amazing clearance deals from the past!}
I opted to keep it simple when it came to accessories and pulled out my tried, true and trusted Clarks flats; I’ve had these for foreverrrrrr and am seriously considering just buying the exact same shoes again because of how much I love them. I also brought out my all black, short druzy necklace.

I totally need to participate in one of these no buy months. I have issues when it comes to fun spending. My issue being I have too much fun. (; I really like the way the check and dots flow together. Nice print mixing! (:

It can be really hard! Especially when you see what goodies/sales/etc everyone else is taking advantage of, but it’s worth it at the end of the month. Thanks so much for reading and commenting!
