Hello from my house! Last night while I couldn’t fall asleep I thought through my quarantine to do list. While my current productivity level makes me think that this won’t all happen…I’m optimistically sharing! Some of you may be super creative and productive during quarantine and I salute you. {Also please safely pass along some of that motivation.}

10 Things I Actually Want to do During Quarantine | Little Check In
Just like most of you, I’ve felt a full range of emotions over the past week. Fear, anxiety, nervousness, fatigue, etc. One of the big things I’m struggling with that I think most of us are facing is news fatigue. It feels like there’s constantly news updates and new info which has made it hard for me to limit how much I watch the news or refresh Twitter.
While I’m not fully ready to give up my obsessive Twitter habit yet, I have cut back on how much news I watch. Ultimately, I’ve tried to keep it turned off aside from the 5PM briefing from our governor and I think it’s helping a bit. Cutting back on social media time is always tough due to being a blogger and working in social media management, but I’m going to keep brainstorming.
10 Things I Actually Want to do During Quarantine | My Quarantine To Do List
It probably would be better to title this list as “thing I want to do but probably won’t”…setting goals is good! These are probably a bit random; let me know what’s on your to do list during this uncertain time.
- Actually go through everything under my sink. // I have a pretty good amount of bathroom storage but need to go through and throw out expired medications & vitamins, old hair and beauty products, etc.
- Similarly, go through my closet. // I went through my closet in December and pulled stuff to donate and consign, but I know I probably could parse it down even more. This time makes it tougher for me to get rid of stuff, but I also know I’ll feel better with less clutter.
- Rewatch Flavor of Love. // All three seasons are streaming for free on the Roku Channel! I’ve finished season one but am hoping to watch season two. Mindless tv happens to be something that’s helping me watch less news so I’m all about it.
- Finally go through my tshirt drawer. // I have a dresser drawer that is dedicated solely to t-shirts I wear around the house: sorority and fraternity shirts, college shirts, etc. It would be nice for me to go through them…but they’ve actually gotten a lot of wear so maybe not?
- Read two books a week. // Right now I’m six books behind my Goodreads goal so now feels like a great time to catch up and even get ahead. Your library may be shut down, but lots of libraries are allowing you to check out eBooks still!
- Try watching Real Housewives or 90 Day Fiancee. // Again more mindless tv, but these two shows seem to be popular with my reality tv loving friends so now may be the time to dive in! {If you have advice for which Housewives franchise to start with, please let me know. My friend Katie says Beverly Hills but I’m open minded.}
- Get better about meditating and practicing daily self care. // Admittedly, this is one of the priorities that I often put on the back burner so I’d like to make sure I’m taking me time to journal, move my body, and meditate.
- Try some new at home workouts! // Speaking of moving my body: I did a series of plié squats last week and was SO sore the next couple of days. While social distancing, I want to make a point to go out for walks when the weather allows it but also use some new at home workout routines. {Maybe this will finally convince me to cancel my gym membership that I never use?}
- Write & mail notes to friends. // Everyone’s feeling a bit distanced right now so snail mail seems like a fun and easy way to make someone’s day. I’m a bit of a stationery hoarder so it’s a good way to use supplies I already have in my home and cheer up loved ones.
- Work on being more creative with photography. // I shoot all of my blog and social media images. Since I’ll be shooting content at home or in my backyard for awhile, I want to challenge myself to be creative with props.

I’m fortunate to be working a job that is permanently work at home, so my life has not changed, other than needing to stay home. Needless to say, I do not really have extra time on my hands. But, if I did, I would totally clean under the sink and hunt through the cabinets for expired snacks haha. I might even do some deep-cleaning/spring cleaning like stuff that does not get done as often. Just some ideas! Hope you stay well.

What a great list. Thanks for sharing. Many of those same things are on my list too.

Have to disagree on Beverly HIlls, only because later seasons have been SUPER boring. I’d start with New York or Atlanta, then dive into Potomac and BH. My two cents – I watch them all, of course! 😉
