Happy Tuesday y’all! Over the weekend, I took over the Love Reese blog for Draper James to share a Louisville City Guide. Today I’m sharing all the details of my outfit PLUS how to eat like a local in Louisville. In case you didn’t know, Louisville was voted the best city to start a road trip & we all know you have to kick off a road trip with some good eats. Let’s eat, Louisville!

Eat Louisville | Breakfast & Brunch in Louisville
The best brunch spots in Louisville #EatLoveLou Click To Tweet- Please and Thank You | Please and Thank You is THE coffee shop to hit up in Louisville, even if you’re like me and don’t like coffee. With {soon to be} three locations, it’s easy to stop in for their renowned chocolate chip cookies and a rosemary lemonade — my fave!
- Hi-Five Doughnuts | With just one look at their Instagram, you’ll know why I recommended this donut shop. What started as one of Louisville’s most popular food trucks, turned into a brick and mortar location. They feature a few staples and regularly introduce specialty donuts for short periods of time.
- Toast on Market | This brunch spot features a whole menu just for mimosas; as crazy as it sounds, I recommend the Pear and Ginger mimosa!

Eat Louisville | Lunch in Louisville

- Vinaigrette Salad Kitchen | The Louisville location just opened a few months back after seeing tons of popularity in Lexington. While you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, I usually order the Classic Chicken Salad with the blueberry vinaigrette.
- Troll Pub Under the Bridge | This underground pub has such a fun atmosphere with a huge troll statue out front. I love the beer cheese burger and substitute the fries for tater tots. Fair warning, this is located right next to the Yum Center so be mindful during basketball season as it fills up quickly on game days.
- Merle’s Whiskey Kitchen | With Southern menu staples like fried chicken and mac and cheese, it may seem overwhelming to order. But fear not, I’ve got you covered! Order the Green Chili Pork tacos and be sure to order one of their margaritas as the mix is made from scratch. {Tequila not your thing? Get the Mama’s Gettin’ Lucky!}
Eat Louisville | Where to Eat Dinner in Louisville
- Mussel & Burger Bar | This Louisville staple has been featured on Food Network for their award winning burgers. The seafood burger is my favorite & their sangria is delicious. You can choose between french or sweet potato fries and if you like mussels, the bowls are served with bread for dipping.
- Bluegrass Brewing Company | There’s always multiple local beers on tap as well as seasonal selections to choose from. The Hot Brown, a sandwich created here in Louisville, can be ordered here, but I also love the Chicken and Waffles. {The waffles are sweet potato waffles served with Nashville style hot, fried chicken.}
- Guacamole | This restaurant serves authentic Mexican food and the best swirl margaritas. My go to item is the Chicken Tinga Sopes; the flavors in this dish are phenomenal.

First, your romper is gorgeous. It looks great on you. I haven’t ever experienced Kentucky as an adult so I know that it would be a totally different experience. I’m so glad you included brunch because that’s my favorite meal.
