Y’all I always imagined I’d only be a bride once…but then The Pointe reached out and I got fake married at the end of the year. Modeling for a wedding styled shoot seemed a bit nerve-racking but the photos are seriously stunning. Excited to give ALL the wedding inspiration to you today. Dreamed about having your pooch at your big day? This post will give you all the dog mom feels.

I Got (Fake) Married: Louisville’s Best Wedding Venue | My Dream Wedding
TBH, I’ve not someone that has their future wedding planned out; I haven’t decided on a dress silhouette, colors, etc. While I have a small mental list of things I think I may want or not want, this helped me think and even reconsider. Example: I was SO sure I wanted to wear my hair down, but am all about the updo now. Also long thought that a veil wasn’t for me but I loved this one from Modern Trousseau!

I Got (Fake) Married: Louisville’s Best Wedding Venue | The Floral Arrangements
It’s very, very, very rare that I buy live flowers but I can’t deny that these arrangements are GORGEOUS. The combination of burgundy, blush, and greens is beautiful and I -still- in awe of Jill’s talent! While I may not know what I want my dress to look like or how many bridesmaids I’ll have, etc. I do know that I want some gorgeous floral arrangements like these! {PS. I Got (Fake) Married: Louisville’s Best Wedding Venue | It’s Dog Friendly!
This cutie’s name is Carson and he was the perfect gentleman. The Pointe is a dog friendly space so bring your dog for your wedding photos and the reception if you want! The space that was set up here for dinner had incredible natural light plus space for Carson and I to walk around and enjoy some treats.

I’ve talked many times about starting this blog after realizing I had power to change my own desire for more representation for women of color. While I love browsing Pinterest and daydreaming about my one day, it’s frustrating to not see posts about women that look like me. I felt a bit nervous about being a fake bride, but ultimately am so grateful I had to opportunity to be part of this styled shoot.

Seeing photos and advertisements and marketing that features people that look like you may seem like such a small thing but I know how long I struggled with feeling out of place due to being multiracial. A lot of people have opinions about bloggers sharing their weddings: should they or shouldn’t they? For me, I hope to one day share my big day in part because my audience is such a big part of my life and in part because of how passionate I am about representation for black and multiracial women.
I Got (Fake) Married: Louisville’s Best Wedding Venue | Final Debate: Bold Lip or Nude Lip?
Thank you SO much for reading today’s post; it’s certainly outside of my normal post and contains a lot more photos but it was tough to narrow it down! One detail we changed during this styled wedding shoot was my lip color. Pam, the makeup artist, started with a nude but said she knew I typically wear bold colors so mid-shoot, we changed up my hair and went with a darker lip.
