What to Wear to Family Thanksgiving | What NOT to Wear
Let’s get this out of the way: don’t wear jeans. Year in and year out, I convince myself that I can wear jeans to Thanksgiving. “I won’t eat that much!” “I’m actually really comfortable in my jeans!” These are all lies that I should really stop telling myself. Also, if your family is anything like mine you’ll get at least three comments about ripped jeans. “Did you pay less for them?” “Where are the rest of your jeans?” etc. Save yourself this anguish and pull out your leggings.

What to Wear to Family Thanksgiving | What I Love About the Spanx Leggings
These leggings are incredibly supportive; they lift you up and hold you in. While I have a couple pairs of plain black leggings, I love that this pair elevates the look with the faux leather. Since we’re gearing up for Black Friday, I’m keeping an eye out for sales on these; I want to snag a pair of the moto faux leather leggings!

What to Wear to Family Thanksgiving | A Bag that Can Hold Your Leftovers
Most important is the bag. Always bring a bag that you can tuck leftovers into! This cognac satchel from Dooney & Bourke has room for multiple tupperware containers so that you can take home turkey, mashed potatoes, and some of the sweet potato casserole.

The big pop of color here is the burnt orange duster; I used neutral accessories to balance the look. These tortoise and holographic statement earrings have been a pair I’ve been reaching for a lot lately; they’re lightweight and go with just about everything.
