There is so much goodness in this post — seriously, this is my first LuLaRoe Lola and I was shocked by how much I love this style! Let’s start with perhaps the most obvious thing. I cut my hair! Friday night, my hair kind of tucked itself into my sweatshirt and after taking about twenty selfies, I texted my friend Michelle fully expecting her to talk me out of it — which she didn’t.
My original plan was to schedule an appointment for this week but I woke up Saturday morning and started chopping off my split ends and got a little carried away. Big ups to Mama Green for not completely losing her mind when I popped up and said, “hey can you even out my hair cut?”
Second, like I mentioned this is my first LuLaRoe Lola! One of my favorite online friends, Tracy, is a LuLaRoe consultant {and all around #bosslady} and had Becky, Tif and I each style one of the skirt styles that she carries as a way to kick off the online sale she’s having in her online shopping group that start tomorrow night at 8 EST! To celebrate, the three of us are giving away one LuLaRoe skirt, keep reading to enter 🙂

So what’s the skinny on the LuLaRoe Lola?
This style is a midi length skirt with an elastic waist {my favorite!} and comes in the lace overlay style I’m wearing or a chiffon. I’ve mentioned my mixed feelings on midi skirts before; while I’m not petite {5’6}, I’m also not considered tall so sometimes I feel like my legs just look stumpy. Imagine how surprised I was when I pulled this LuLaRoe Lola on and found that it did no such thing! I can honestly say that this is one of my favorite looks I’ve shot recently just because of how pretty it made me feel.
The teal color makes the lace subtly feminine and the LuLaRoe Lola‘s black elastic waist made it easy to pair with this cold shoulder top. I bought this exact one back in November from LOFT knowing full well that it wasn’t something I’d be able to wear a ton until spring rolled around. One of the things that I love about the cold shoulder trend is that you can get away with wearing a normal bra. {Comfort first, am I right ladies?!}
Devil’s in the details:
I wanted to edge the ladylike look up just a bit so I pulled out my leopard, calf hair clutch so that I could mix a print with my textured skirt. Mixing metals with jewelry also helps take the chic factor up a notch. Also, I promise to not wear this necklace for the next blog on this space — seriously though it’s SO. GOOD.
Finally, I wanted to incorporate the nude underlay of the skirt so I wore my strappy nude kitten heels. Kitten heels have such a bad rep but also don’t make me want to cut my feet off at the ankles so here we are. While some aren’t very aesthetically pleasing, these ones are cute, easy to walk in {trust me I’m heel challenged}, and incredibly comfortable.
