One of my favorite things this holiday season has been my food themed Christmas tree. Growing up, my family always had a sentimental Christmas tree with a mix and match of ornaments that my brother and I made and that my parents collected over the years. I’d always been drawn to themed Christmas trees but didn’t know what theme I’d want to commit to. A few years back though it came to me; I’m a foodie and loved the idea of having a food themed Christmas tree. And so my holiday tradition began.

Food Themed Christmas Tree: My Themed Tree | Lots of New Additions
Last year, I didn’t put my food themed tree up so I made a point of doing it this year and the excitement of doing so felt special and new. In past years, I’ve added to my collection by shopping the one or two food related options at stores like Target, At Home, and Work the Metal but this year it seemed like more and more food ornaments were jumping out at me.

I was lucky too because after sharing about my tree on Instagram, lots of people reached out to let me know as they saw food related ornaments. The everything bagel ornament was one that a follower tipped me off about and was perfect as this was the year that I really fell in love with everything but the bagel seasoning.
Food Themed Christmas Tree: My Themed Tree | Favorite New Addition
It’s tough to pick favorites with this tree (at least for me), but my favorite new addition this year was hands down the fried chicken drumstick from Kentucky for Kentucky. I still can’t get over how realistic the fried chicken ornament looks and am tickled every time I see it on the tree.

Food Themed Christmas Tree: My Themed Tree | The Conversation Starter
One factor that was new this year was that I purposely put my food Christmas tree next to my desk. It’s something I know I want to do again in the future; it’s nice to have this fun touch in my office space plus it was a BIG conversation starter with my coworkers and on client calls. {I took to moving the ornaments around so that different ones were in the background of my Zoom calls, but I also ended up giving tree tours on a few Zoom calls this season.}

While the food themed tree served as a trusty ice breaker for work, it also was a favorite on Instagram Stories. It was fun to feature an ornament of the day and is something I know I want to do in future seasons too.

I’ll likely snag a couple ornaments during post-Christmas sales to add to my collection and since the 4.5 foot Christmas tree is getting full, I am considering upgrading this to a taller tree next year. Still, I do like the tabletop size and could see putting this on my counter bar in the kitchen in the future too. So I guess the answer is…we’ll see!
