The right environment is SO key to productivity; being able to easily concentrate makes a big difference when working from home. I know a lot of people have been thrown into creating home offices and workspaces so I wanted to share five home office ideas that I love. Putting together a room can get expensive so I’ve stuck with a pretty reasonable budget for most of these ideas!

5 Home Offices I’d Like to Work In | Take Over a Corner of Your Living Room or Bedroom
I know that having a room dedicated to a home office isn’t something a lot of us have — especially if you primarily work on location normally. One way to work with this is to add a desk into your living area or bedroom. If you have space, you can turn this corner into a dedicated office space by adding an area rug and a ladder bookcase to hold your printer if needed. If not, keep things simple with this white and gold desk and a velvet desk chair.

5 Home Offices I’d Like to Work In | Make a Spare Room Multipurpose
If you do have an extra bedroom, consider making it a multipurpose room. It can still serve as a guest room when you have visitors, but also turn it into a space where you can work. I’m a big fan of navy and pink together so if I wanted to add to an existing guest room, I’d tie into those colors.

Since my personal decor style is a mix of mid-century modern and glam, I’d make sure to have some gold as well as those rich colors that I like. For this home office workspace, I picked out a beautiful {and affordable!} area rug and paired it with a navy desk. I’ve also selected wall art for this room that ties into the decor and still works for a guest room.
5 Home Offices I’d Like to Work In | The Fun Office
If I had an extra room to devote solely to my own workspace, I imagine it would look something like this. A neutral area rug with a white and gold desk and most importantly a comfortable desk chair. A sign that I’ve probably been watching too much decor YouTube is that I want to switch out every light fixture. This gold one is gorgeous with the multiple bulbs and such a fun statement piece. Finding illustrated art that depicts women of color is harder than most people probably realize. Luckily, with the internet, it’s easier than it was in previous generations. The series here is whimsical while still feeling relatable to me.

5 Home Offices I’d Like to Work In | Setting Up in a Common Area
One of the things I am most grateful for in this season is having my own space. Hearing stories about sharing workspace with a significant other has made me SUPER grateful for that. However, if I were in a situation where I needed to share a workspace this is how I’d go about it. The room divider helps minimize distractions so that focusing is easier while also providing some semblance of privacy. This desk provides room for you to set up your work laptop while still taking up a minimal amount of space. Finally, a ring light is a great investment if you’re hopping on lots of video calls for work. Indoor lighting can be tricky and this really helps elevate professionalism.

5 Home Offices I’d Like to Work In | The Neutral Yet Pretty Space
If you’re wanting to keep your new workspace simple and neutral, this is it! This black and gold desk features two drawers and isn’t overly clunky. Set up your desktop or laptop and you’re good to go. If you’re missing the personal touches from your normal office, add in a coordinating desk lamp and a mirrored tray for knick knacks.
