Can’t believe we’re already over halfway through November! Let’s recap the first half of the month as seen on Instagram. And if you’re not already following me….get to it. I spent this past weekend working, but it was completely worth it as I’m headed to Chicago for the next day and a half (ish) for the Kentucky-Duke basketball game. #GoCats
How amazing is the detail on this hat?! I was convinced that the large wool hat trend was one I would skip out on for many reasons: you can normally find me wearing my hair up, I have a kind of odd shaped head, my forehead is kind of large so how am I supposed to position this hat? I finally tried this one on a couple weeks ago and fell in love! The longer brim is very flattering, it fits on my head and I immediately was drawn to the laser cut detail. This exact one is linked above and runs at $34, but I’ve linked a similar black wool hat (sans laser cut detail) as well that’s under $25.
I’d been eyeing a contrast trimmed button down for awhile now and hadn’t found one that I liked the fit of in the price range I was looking for. While I probably (read totally) didn’t need another black and white blouse, the fit on this one worked on my body and I like the v-neckline. It is a bit sheer, but nothing that a nude or white cami can’t take care of. The fit is true to size; I tried on the 2 and the 4 just because sometimes the sizing can be off, and ended up with the 2. I love the clean and classic look of this top paired with a black mini skirt, but the longer length means I can pair it with leggings or coated black skinny jeans and I love the idea of this tucked into an a-line skirt as well. With the neutral colors, I see it being an item I get a lot of wear out of.
I hadn’t gotten a chance to wear this plaid yet so I paired it with this bold cardigan so that I could be super bright and have a little pattern mix at the same time. I don’t think I’ll ever grow out of my stripe loving ways.
Burgundy and olive aren’t colors I’d normally think to pair together, but as their both “it” colors this fall, I gave it a try and really liked the outcome. Flatlays have become my new way to outfit plan and I can’t wait to wear this combination.
Did you catch this look featuring my skirt from eShakti last week? #OBSESSED
The skirt seemed so me and I have a major crush on the ivory, embellished top I paired with it; can’t wait to wear it all holiday season because it’s sparkle season, people. Don’t forget to use promo code “whatnicolewore” to receive 10% off your eShakti purchase through December 11th.
I debated so hard on buying these Hunter boots y’all and I’m so glad I decided to go for it and sell my other (too big) pair. We’ve been having serious fall weather the past couple weeks with lots of rain and cold temps. These wellies have been so necessary for avoiding wet jean ankle syndrome (literally the worst).
I bought this olive vest not entirely sure if it would get the closet love it deserves since I already own a forest green colored vest, but I’m happy to report it’s been on major repeat lately.
This sweater is one of my very favorites; it’s high quality so it’s held up very well and it’s thick and warm. What’s not to like? This classic piece is on heavy rotation each fall + winter and is even making the trip to Chicago with me.
Buffalo plaid + black and white stripes is such a classic print mix to me; the black makes it very complementary and this combo is one I’d recommend to those a little more wary about pattern mixing.
I’m still feeling a little meh about this skirt; the price was good, but the waist is huge and the length is a bit short without tights underneath. The waist issue can be fixed by a tailor so I’m tentatively giving it another chance. I did end up wearing this plaid out for a friend’s birthday and was so upset when I found a little wear and tear on the sleeve, but four years into this relationship….I guess it’s probably time to start the search for a new red tartan plaid.
The blue in this blanket scarf is just AMAZING. I want to wrap myself up in it every single day. I’ve been trying to decide on what blanket scarf I want to add to my collection next and can’t decide between this one, this one or this one….what do you think?
I hadn’t worn this sweater since I was in London (…in May) and love how warm it is – definitely want to pick a new one up this year.
Gifting season’s officially in full swing, but last week was crazy! My boss left for a new job, friend’s birthday, Dad’s birthday this week, thanksgiving gift exchange. Naturally, I headed to my favorite place, Paper Source, to pick up some cards during Friends and Family and was even more surprised because they were having a sale too! I have an obsession with paper goods that’s well known among friends and family members; last year I made my mom go to a stationery crafting class with me. (This year she told me it was too expensive even if I was going to pay for both of us…. #rude) I made myself stay away from the Christmas cards since I still have tons left over (and bought some on clearance back in January…it’s fine), but I’m majorly crushing on this set, this set and this set!
I debated on what color scarf to get when I purchased this through a Living Social deal and am so glad I got the black and white one. It goes with everything (obviously) and I find myself reaching for it all the time. This is one I’ve cut in half to get rid of bulkiness. Also, halving your blanket scarf means you have another half to gift to a friend.
Already talked about my love for this skirt, so let’s talk about my current eShakti faves: eyeing this, this, this, this and this. Okay, but how perfect is the fit of this skirt? Casually want to get all clothing custom made now.
I can’t help but think about Grease every time I pull out this quilted jacket and I don’t hate it. To continue my edgy vibe, I went with a studded clutch (that’s also glittery #touché) and a spiked necklace.
This sweater is an oldie but goodie and obviously a blogger fave. It’s such a fun statement piece that always makes quickly throwing together an outfit super easy. I’m majorly crushing on this sweater from Tablots right now for the holiday season for this exact reason.
Wishing you the happiest week!
