Recapping all the latest ‘grams for y’all today. I have to say that I’m dying over the fact that it’s November and I still haven’t started Christmas shopping!!!! (I write that after using my day off from work this week to sleep in before going to Sam’s Club to buy food but no gifts). I without a doubt want to get my holiday shopping done, preferably before Black Friday but that may be way too ambitious at this point.
Don’t forget, you can stay up to date with my Instagram by 1. following me @whatnicolewore (I promise sometimes I’m witty and/or say useful things) Major bonus: Instagram finally stopped screwing around and fixed photo tags this week #PTL so all my photos are tagged with sources once again. OR 2. Heading here and registering once for Like To Know It! You can shop my feed and as I post a URL is given for you to head straight to the items I’m currently wearing, loving on, stalking, trying to justify buying, etc. You can set up your email preferences to immediately get details sent, daily, weekly, or if you’re like me and really trying to clear that inbox — receive no emails.
This gunmetal, black druzy necklace is one of my absolute favorite pieces to wear lately; seriously, I have it in silver too and am obsessed with the rose gold option. #ChristmasList Also on the list? This Kendra Scott ring.
I had so much fun at a pumpkin party with my coworkers. I decided ahead of time that I wanted to step away from tradition and get a white pumpkin. I’m horrible at carving and hate the slime so decorating with gold glitter seemed a lot more me. My Instax Mini 8 is one of my favorite things to bring with me to document fun moments. Also, how fun are these film options?! Love that you can have rainbow, striped, animal print photo frames for your mini shots.
This sweater always makes me think about my childhood dog, an Airedale Terrier named Rufus, which probably has a lot to do with my obsession with terriers. I paired the camel and brown sweater with my black grid print skirt and then threw on my chambray shirt underneath so I could stay warm.
I’ve been snapping up plaid shirts left and right lately and couldn’t resist this one because of the fun detailing on the cuffs and collar.
Find of the last two weeks: Hunter Original Tall Boots at Costco! These have been all over the blog lately (#sorrynotsorry) and the sizing is a lot better than the Tall Stripe I had purchased at Nordstrom Rack. Word to the wise: shipping Hunters in the original box is hella expensive so if you resell, I’d advise a local consignment shop over eBay. Sincerely, a woman still trying to figure out if she really dropped $35 on shipping a package.
Not quite ready to make the investment wellies? I love this option from Target and a close friend has these in black. Definitely more budget friendly while you decide or look for a deal.
I threw it back to this outfit when it was still cold last week and I was regretting not being able to wear outfits like this anymore. Ask and ye shall receive, am I right? Mother Nature brought the heat and it’s been in the high 70s most of the week. Now if there was just a way to have the temperature not be freezing in the early morning. Also – this shirt is back in stock!
With the holidays creeping up, I guess it’s time to start thinking about those items in my closet that are really only meant for this time of year but that I wear year round anyways. Prime example: this sequined top that is about to be on constant repeat.
I’m late to the game with this candle, but my goodness! You can find these at Francesca’s or Anthropologie in various sizes and scents. I personally love Volcano and have it lit just about every night. They’re certainly a bit pricier than my typical Bath and Body Works candles, but #TreatYoSelf (read: I use an employee discount on them). Side note: I’m way too hyped that Champagne Toast is back for the holidays!
These olive skinny jeans filled a hole I didn’t even realize I had in my closet. The darker and neutral hue makes it a pair of pants that goes with almost everything. I’m planning on wearing this pair nonstop during the cooler months.
I went to my favorite abandoned spot to take photos over the weekend and was really happy with the way they all turned out. I passed on buying this rock salt plaid shirt last year from J Crew Factory and Old Navy and have been kicking myself ever since. The colors were so unique to me and this plaid has a few of them in it. I liked that there’s a small pink stripe in the plaid too.
I like having graphic tees for easy weekend wear that can also double as gym clothes. This one dips a little too low in the back to be worn outside the gym without a cami, but is almost always on sale for under $15, so I couldn’t pass up using a gift card on it. My cardigan is on major sale, $40 with some sizes and colors down to $23, and selling out quick! I wear Kentucky blue all the time so I know I’ll think of lots of ways to style this piece.
I’ve talked about it before, but my Longchamp is one of my favorite pieces to take with me when I travel because it can be folded up (as seen above) and stored easily and compactly. Perfect for those trips when you end up bringing more home than you left with.
One of my closet staples is a good striped tee. I have them in all different lengths: short, long, 3/4. This one is currently on sale for $18 and also available in black and white. The pocket features diagonal stripes that give the tee a pattern mixing vibe without being too crazy. I paired it with all black and white accessories and love that the burgundy breaks up the matchy matchy vibes.
My boots are under $50 and pretty comfortable — I walked five miles in them at work the other day which I think really vouches for them.
This look is coming to the blog soon, but I just couldn’t resist sharing this gorgeous blanket scarf. I love that the plaid is kept very simple; just red, white and blue with no other colors or lines. It paired so well over my red and white striped tee and will work well with so many other pieces in my closet. I did cut this scarf in half to get rid of some of the bulkiness.
This scarf was SUCH a good deal, especially once I cut it in half and had a gift for a friend too. If you’re wondering about taking the big plunge and doing the snip snip to your scarf, be sure to check out this post from earlier this week for more details.
Black and white pattern mixing is one of my favorites so my grid print skirt and spectacle shirt seemed to be natural options for me.
Nordstrom’s Fall Clearance sale started yesterday so I wanted to share a couple items I’m crushing on!
- This perforated, faux suede skirt | Suede skirts have been one of the huge trends this fall so I’m really hoping this one fits properly; there’s so many different ways to style them, they like great with tights and I like that this one has some perforation to give it some fun texture. The under $30 price point isn’t bad either.
- Pearl Ear Jackets | This jewelry trend is so fun to me and really makes me want to go and get my ears re-pierced ASAP.
- Kate Spade Watch | I love the contrast of the hot pink features and gold in this timepiece.
- This pretty waterfall cardigan | it’s available in a few different fall hues and looks so cozy.
- Zella Cropped Leggings | I have tons of clothes which means not having to do laundry regularly. It also means sometimes I end up doing a small load of just dirty gym clothes.
- This jacket!!! | I love the mixture of textures in this coat. #swooning
