I can wear colored denim to work during the week and it’s felt like I’ve been living in my black and white jeans ever since it started cooling off in Louisville. I decided to get adventurous and add a couple colors to my collection recently and I’m really loving this olive pair. I’ve talked about these jeans before but they’re the only pair I’ve found recently that fit me in the waist, hips and thighs without alterations which means they’re a major winner in my book.
My cognac riding boots complement the olive skinny jeans and with the pattern mixing I did, I knew I wanted to stick with neutral tones throughout the outfit. The black and white gingham shirt adds a fun print but the neutral colors don’t make things too crazy.
I ordered this blanket scarf off Living Social and decided to make it my test subject when I got the guts to cut a blanket scarf in half. I couldn’t be happier with the result; I hate feeling (and even worse looking) like a life-size bobblehead. This only works on square scarves, all you need to do is fold the scarf in half into a triangle (as pictured above) and then cut along that diagonal. Same look, less stuff(iness). Voila, you now have a blanket scarf that doesn’t swallow you and you have a blanket scarf to gift to a friend.
Speaking of blanket scarves, when I ordered this one I wasn’t sure how I felt about the this group of colors, but I’m really loving it. The mint is somewhat unexpected and the brown, blue and yellow tie in all of those autumn colors that we love. As far as blanket scarves I’m eyeing? This red, white, blue and gray one, the original tartan print, and a green and navy combo.
