I made a big decision on Friday….I joined a gym!
I’ve gone back and forth on it forever! I’ve always been blessed with an awesome metabolism (thank you Lord!), so every other time I’ve gotten on a health kick it hasn’t really stuck because I typically don’t lose weight. I’ve had a lot of life changes in the past year from “breaking up” with my best friends since high school, being diagnosed with anxiety and losing several members of my family.
I started to really put myself first at the end of last year when I started cutting out all of my “friends” that constantly brought me down, spoke poorly about each other and put me down for being into fashion and style and posting my outfits on instagram – a bit strange, I’ll admit.
I’ve made so many changes for myself that have strengthened me mentally and emotionally and decided I wanted to make the same strides in the physical aspect of my life so here’s hoping it sticks! I’m not so concerned with losing weight, but more of gaining energy and boosting those positive endorphins.
I told myself I wasn’t going to buy any new gym gear until I met a personal milestone of hitting the gym regularly (already broke it, the compression crops were on sale though!) so hopefully in a couple weeks I’ll have a new fitness related post.
I’ve never belonged to a gym so I really had no idea what all I would need but after touring my new gym I made a little list and these are the items I brought with me for my first trip yesterday.
What are your gym bag must haves?
