I’ve been trying to step out of the box more with my makeup choices and this hot pink lipstick definitely does just that. It has a blue metallic undertone that made me a little intimidated to put it in my online cart, but the color is stunning in person and the formula is creamy and comfortable to wear.
I recently started using this waterproof brow pencil to outline my brows and it has been a game changer; I have a small part of my brow that refuses to grow back in after a plucking gone wrong incident {that let’s be real we’ve all suffered at some point} so outlining the bottom and top of my brows lets me cover it up and get my brows nice and even. I use the spooly brush on the end of my brow pencil to soften the lines before going over the body of my brow with this gel that holds my eyebrow in place and evens out the color.
If you’re a platinum member at Ulta now is a great time to purchase since they have one of the 20% off coupons out that doesn’t exclude the prestige brands; I’ve been loading up my cart all week with all my skincare and beauty favorites that rarely go on sale/are eligible for coupons.
I’m joining some other bloggers today in sharing some April Showers looks. Be sure to check out everyone’s fun, rainy day style.

This dress immediately jumped out at me because 1. it has stripes {my fave} 2. the t shirt material that makes it super easy to throw on and dress up or down and 3. the elbow patches. I’m wearing a small and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived that it is a little longer in the back; keeping my tail covered in shorter dresses can be tricky at times but this one was actually long enough for me to get away with belting it.
Let’s talk about the big elephant in the room — rain boots but no rain. I know, I know. The day I planned to shoot this outfit, it did rain but unfortunately started hailing and put us under a tornado watch so I went for the pretty pictures instead of the practical ones, so to speak.
These lilac Hunter boots jumped out at for me for a couple of reasons, but the first was for sure the price. I haven’t been able to check out my local Clothes Mentor as much as I’d like but after visiting with Tif a couple weekends ago and talking about some of her finds, I pulled up their Instagram and was lucky enough to see they’d just posted these boots and that they were in an 8. I called them the next morning, had them hold the boots for me, drove over and picked them up for just $50 compared to the $150 they usually run.
This DIY clutch has been on my to do list ever since I saw Kayla’s post with hers; the project wasn’t as difficult as I expected and was a great way to work on my {very} fledgling sewing skills. Hoping to one day be able to make {small} alterations and maybe even be able to hem.
I ordered my ring while it was on flash sale a few weeks ago, my friend Heather is a Stella & Dot stylist and after I ordered this ring from her back in the fall I knew I wanted another one because of how well it fit and how frequently I wear it.
