This week has seemed hella long. I’ll be super happy to get back in my normal routine next week; just finding a time to do laundry was a real struggle…yikes. Maybe one day I’ll get the hang of this time management thing.
This week I remixed this dress that I wore a few weeks ago on the blog. It’s been in the mid 80s most of the week and I opted for pairing this cute plaid dress with neutral pieces like my jean vest, a light tan saddle bag, leather ankle boots and my black Kendra Scott druzy necklace. These pieces made the look more appropriate for the slowly transitioning seasons.
My jean vest is perfect for this time of the year — it’s great during the cool mornings, but isn’t too heavy (or hot) during the day. While everyone and their mother (and my mother for that fact) lists a jean jacket as one of their wardrobe essentials, I actually don’t own one. I know. I haven’t found a fit that I love and I’m big on not settling for bad sizing or a cut that I don’t like.
This dress comes in a lightweight fabric and the crochet hem adds a feminine touch onto this classic print that we all love. Another plus is the flattering cut. There’s a couple different dress styles that I enjoy, but something about the fit and flare always draws me in. Being pear shaped, I always want to accentuate my waist, so the nipped in waist is a win-win for me.
These booties are the latest addition to my shoe collection. I’d been looking for a pair with a small heel, maximum comfort and in a shade of leather that I loved. This pair has a 1 3/4 inch square heel that makes it possible for me to wear them all day and stand on my feet for eight hours at work.
