12 Days of Blogmas: Velvet Swing Dress
12 Days of Blogmas: Black Lace Shirt & Red Scallop Skirt
You guys: Blogmas is here! I’m super pumped to share 12 different posts over the next couple of weeks sharing the best holiday outfit inspiration, gift guides and even a few giveaways. I’m kicking off the series with today’s post which is also apart of the monthly How I Style It blog hop where we are all styling holidays colors.

Gift Guide: Dear Santa

Every couple days this month, I’m changing up the ‘Holiday Shop’ widget that sits in the top right of my sidebar, but I wanted to highlight some of the fun items that are in it right now because they’re great for gifting.
The red bow back dress features a low back with a classic fit and flare silhouette that I love. This dress ships for free and is just perfect for all of your holiday parties. Pair it with gold jewelry, nude pumps and a red lip for the traditional holiday look.
This Anastasia Beverly Hills eyeshadow palette was just released this fall and has gotten great reviews. I love the family of colors in this palette, plus I prefer my eyeshadows in sets like this because it makes knowing what colors to blend so much easier. {I have this palette, that so many people call the OG, and have absolutely loved it.}
It seems like every year I manage to forget someone on my list, so I always try to buy a few gift sets that I don’t even have to wrap, like this trio of tassel earrings. {I picked up one of these nail polish sets over the weekend as another ‘just in case’ gift!}
I love Chrissy Teigen {anyone else live for her Instagram’s of Luna in different Halloween costumes?!} and her cookbook, Cravings, has been on my wish list for awhile now. I’m hoping to have a little more free time after the holidays so that cooking can be a thing that I actually do regularly.
Y’all know I have plenty of striped tees but this one is in a festive red and white and has a cute fringe detail along the hem. Plus it’s on sale right now and how can any of us resist that?
Finally, this mini polar bear purse is too stinkin’ cute. J. Crew always knocks it out of the park with their fun, novelty items but I can’t get over how darling this bag is for the little lady in your life.
Unique Vision: the J Galt Eyewear Experience
I love being able to highlight local, small businesses and so today’s post about J. Galt Eyewear, a new eyewear boutique in the Chevy Chase area of Lexington, Kentucky, was a super fun post for me to write. The one of a kind shop is super close {think walking distance} of the dorm I lived in when I was just 18 and a freshman at the University of Kentucky.
I’ve worn glasses, and then later contacts, since I was twelve years old. While my first memories of vision problems are not being able to see the whiteboard in class, these days I can’t even read my laptop screen without help. Driving sans contacts or eyewear is out of the question. Even with pretty good eye insurance, I usually only pick up a new pair of frames every other year since my insurance only covers a portion of my frames or what ends up being a year’s supply of contacts. With my astigmatism, the last pair of frames that I got from my eye doctor’s office were over $500; while I like having the option of switching back and forth between my contacts and glasses, I’ve never been able to justify the extra out of pocket cost each year.

Enter J. Galt Eyewear. The space was expertly decorated and is aesthetically pleasing from the moment you walk in through the bright mint front doors. Tables inside the shop were crafted from repurposed bourbon barrels bought from a local distillery. When I stepped inside, the staff warmly greeted me and then we got down to business: it was time to pick out some new glasses.
