Full out bringing the sass today in dark matte lipstick and some new neutrals for spring. I’m definitely someone that embraces color, but despite the fact that all the pastel things are popping up everywhere, I still couldn’t help but to reach out for some neutrals {plus a lipstick that really speaks for itself.}
So let’s talk about the bag:
This Rebecca Minkoff bag has been on my radar for awhile due to the similarities it bares to the Chanel Boy Bag at a less extravagant price point. When Tif and I met up, we went into Nordstrom Rack where this bag had been put back from an online return. I was excited when I first saw it and ecstatic when I saw what the markdown was.
Tif, being the great blogger friend that she is, quickly agreed that the price was good, the color was classic and that I had to get it. And how could I not? {Actually there’s a lot of ways to not, but let’s pretend for a moment} I’m not a big purse person and didn’t own a crossbody bag in taupe, I love the leather strap over the shoulder so I don’t have to worry about the chain digging into me and the size is perfect — my everyday wallet, the Kate Spade Lacey, fits inside so I don’t have to worry about transferring things just to carry this bag.
I picked up this shirt at Old Navy a few weeks ago because I have a serious weakness for all things gingham and plaid and it is so comfortable. And even better, super forgiving! I went out to lunch with my friend Savannah before I shot these pictures and indulged in chips + queso and then some avocado fried egg rolls. While it was delicious, I left lunch feeling seriously bloated. The flowy nature of this top makes it easy to move around in {and to overeat in!}
I, of course, had to add some color into this look and chose this tassel necklace; I absolutely love turquoise jewelry because of the brightness it adds. This necklace has some fun orange strands in the tassels too. I’m also loving this oldie but goodie hot pink polish; it’s been my go to hot pink for about a year now.
Check out the turquoise pieces currently on my wish list:
Ordering this dark lip was a bit of a risk for me, but after watching one million swatch videos on YouTube {only a slight exaggeration}, I felt pretty confident that the shade wouldn’t look horrible on me. Deep thought: how did people buy makeup before YouTube?! I love that I can search for vloggers/bloggers with my skin tone to see approximately how things will look on me.
Surprisingly, I actually really like it — not a color I’d feel comfortable wearing every day, but it’s a lot of fun for date night or even a girls night out.
PS. I updated my sidebar yesterday and added two new, fun features in! You can swipe through and see the items I’ve currently got my eye on under ‘Currently Dreaming Of…’ and I added a summer themed shop a little further down titled, ‘Vitamin Sea.’ I’m hoping to update my current wish list each week and to swap out the seasonal shop throughout the year for different events like summer weddings, 4th of July, back to school, recruitment ready looks, etc. Let me know if there’s something you’d like to see!
