The Kentucky Derby is officially less than a month away so it’s time to get race day ready! In this post, I’m sharing a pastel look from Macy’s that’s perfect for Churchill Downs or even Easter. A couple weeks ago, I got to attend the Kentucky Derby Fashion Show presented by Macy’s and left inspired.

Race Day Ready with Macy’s for Kentucky Derby | Why Macy’s?
Let’s be real; shopping with a crowd can be stressful! Macy’s is your go to destination if you want to be able to knock out all of your shopping in one trip. They have stylists available in store so you can even set up an appointment to shop with someone else beforehand. Being able to get my head to toe look was so nice; no hauling my dress from store to store to make sure I find a matching headpiece.

Race Day Ready with Macy’s for Kentucky Derby | The Shoes
Macy’s has a vast shoe department, but I know my strengths and walking in stilettos is not one. (How I wish I were blessed with this talent though.) Once I let my stylist, Courtney, know that I was about the block heel and wedge life, we were able to narrow things down and only look at those options. And let me tell you…they had options! Lots of colors, heel heights, sizes, etc. I snagged these blush block heels; I know I’ll be able to wear them quite a bit and they’re super comfortable.

Race Day Ready with Macy’s for Kentucky Derby | All About The Hats
Speaking of headpieces — I was really impressed with the selection Macy’s at Oxmoor Center had. Tons of color combinations. Hats and fascinators of all sizes so that you’re able to find the option that works for you! One of the things that drew me to this dress was the pastel hues throughout it so I knew I wanted to highlight those when picking my fascinator.

There were multiple in store that could have worked with this dress so if this is your dream Kentucky Oaks dress, you can find the pink headpiece of your dreams too. I opted to use my own accessories with this look, but your stylist can help you pick out the right clutch and jewelry to make this look pop.

Fit and flares are a staple in my personal style so this cut was one I was immediately drawn to. The gold buttons elevate the embroidered dress and the combination makes for a fun mix of texture and color. Part of why I love pieces that have so many colors in them is because it makes them easier to rewear by switching accessories, shoes, and even makeup.

Here I wore a new coral lipstick, but I could just as easily wear this dress with a nude or pink lipstick to change the overall look. While I love the mint necklace here, it’s just as easy to swap the necklace for pink, purple, or even blue jewelry.

The real question is where wouldn’t I wear this? This frock is perfect for Easter brunch, spring weddings, Mother’s Day…the list goes on. If you want to dress it down, pair it with your favorite jean jacket, gold jewelry, and a nude lipstick for a more casual look.
