I’m wrapping up the Blogmas series this week with this look and tomorrow’s post which will be all about creating a New Year’s Eve look from the items already in your closet! I wore this gorgeous red lace overlay dress for Christmas Eve. We typically all get dressed up and go out to a fancy dinner as a family. It’s a fun tradition and we always try to remember to snap a family photo with everyone that’s in town.

I immediately loved this red and nude lace dress and knew it would be perfect for the holidays. Since the weather’s been kind of back and forth in Kentucky lately, I wore my houndstooth coat. I bought this coat years ago and it’s been a purchase that has paid itself off a few times. During the winter, I usually bundle up in my super warm {but not super cute} Lands’ End coat, but every once in awhile, I’m going out and need something that’s a little easier on the eyes. This coat always is the one I reach for when these occasions pop up.
I went with bare legs {yassss warm weather} and a simple but strappy nude heel. Since I went for a more modern look mixing textures and prints between the lace dress, tweed houndstooth coat and marble print leather clutch, I incorporated some current trends by wearing a simple black lace choker with a cream statement necklace for a little bit of sparkle. This easily was one of my looks to wear this holiday season and what I love about this dress is that it’s definitely one I can wear again for Valentine’s Day {pair it with a hot pink lip like I did here!} or to break out during summer wedding season.
