Happy Monday! I love that so many trends have made huge comebacks lately like this retro embroidered shirt from Chicwish. The high neck and ruffled embellishment adds a feminine touch to a menswear inspired workwear staple. This striped number can be tucked into jeans or a skirt or tied up into a crop.
PS. If you need to brighten up your Monday, hop on over to Instagram! I’ve teamed up with some friends to give away a Kate Spade tote and wallet as well as a pair of Kendra Scott earrings!

So what’s the skinny on the retro embroidered shirt?
Embroidery has been one of the trends that’s made a huge return this season. This spring, expect to see tons of embroidered florals, cacti as well as fruits and cute critters. This top caught my eye with its colorful embroidery and fun ruffled detail. The top buttons all the way up and presents a classic look. {Not into the fully buttoned up look? Try this similar top!} I left the bottom button of my retro embroidered shirt unbuttoned and then tied it up for a minimal crop effect.

Devil’s in the details:
Between the stripes, ruffles and embroidery, I really wanted to keep things simple when it came to accessories! My Madewell Transport Tote can be loaded up with essentials and the pretty cognac leather goes with everything in your closet. I grabbed my rounded aviators that have blue lenses to fit the color scheme and topped things off with a dark, matte lipstick. While my normal go to is a bold red lip, lately I’ve been trying to branch out!
This outfit was also the perfect opportunity to break out my new espadrilles! Vera Bradley’s new summer collection just launched and has a ton of fun pieces that you’ll love. These navy espadrilles feature embroidered pineapple. They come in full sizes only; if you’re a half size, size down!
