Let me start this post by giving a HUGE thank you to everyone that entered the Kendra Scott giveaway last week! I’m so glad to know that you all love Kendra as much as I do and definitely will keep that in mind for future giveaways. Today’s post is all about the right to bare arms, how to embrace the one shoulder trend if you’re self-conscious about said arms, and why I’m crazy passionate about loving the skin you’re in.

Right to Bare Arms | What’s the Skinny?
Can I be real? I haven’t worked out in about a year. It hasn’t been a conscious decision but it also hasn’t been a priority & would make it easy for me to say, “I shouldn’t wear anything sleeveless.” Summer fashion gets a bad rep because of body image issues and I totally get it; I’ve mentioned before that I’m not a big fan of my thighs and while last summer I shot a post in a swimsuit, I have no plans to this year. {Because of the whole not working out thing and those exact same thighs.}
That being said, I feel really passionately about embracing the skin that you’re in and 100% behind wearing whatever you want and are comfortable in. I think that body positivity becoming trendy is kind of silly because it shouldn’t just be a hot trend; we should always know that our bodies were built with a purpose and are beautiful. There’s no shame in having body insecurities because we all have them but don’t let them make you feel lesser than!
I deal with my body securities by knowing what parts of my body I feel confident about and showcase the heck out of them. I try to “balance” outfits so in this outfit while I’m wearing a one shoulder blouse that shows off my arms, I’m wearing pants versus shorts. Typically when you see me in shorts, I pair it with a top that has sleeves. I avoid pairing two tight {or two loose} pieces together to maintain that balance. It’s a simple trick but helps me to feel confident in my clothing and with my body. What are your tricks for staying body positive?
Right to Bare Arms | Devil’s in the Details.
Now onto the fun part of this post — the details! I knew I wanted to rock some of my favorite Kendra pieces for my first trip to the new store at the Summit at Fritz Farm but wasn’t initially sure which ones to pull out. I ended up mixing my metals and went with my gunmetal, black druzy stud earrings & a gold filigree necklace. This necklace was part of last summer’s collection but a super similar one has been released and can be found here! My necklace choice ended up being spot on because it perfectly matches the filigree that makes the Kendra Scott store stand out.
Finally, I got to debut this colorful clutch from Baublebar. It immediately caught my attention with the fun beading and fringe around the edges. The bag also has a chain so that you can carry it as a crossbody {you can see it in this photo!}.

What a cute outfit, along with great tips on remaining confident in your skin. I’m selfconcious about my veiny legs, am grateful that I ran easily. A days in the sun helps. Or I use sunless tanner. As far as the top, off I’ve yet to delve into the one-sided sleeveless , but I wonder…are they less hassle than the total off the shoulder? I own one dress that’s off the shoulder and I’m constantly pulling at the sleeves to keep them down.
Thank you for linking up w Thursday Moda. 😊

Yes! What I love about one shoulder is that it sits in place and there’s not that need for constant adjustment!
