Is my summer blogging schedule my best schedule? TBD. I’m showing a striped sweater two ways for now and later. Full transparency, the last couple weeks it felt a little frivolous for me to talk about clothes, makeup, love lessons from the Bachelorette, etc. when we’ve seen two mass shootings.

I know that everyone is talking about fall clothes, but it’s still 96 degrees here, so summer transition outfits it is! During my first trip to the new Evereve store that opened in Louisville last month, I snagged this multicolor striped sweater. It features a variety of knits and is lightweight. Lately, I’ve been throwing it on with these jean shorts or chino shorts for an easy outfit that looks put together.

You can front tuck it with a belt but it also looks great untucked. One of the ways I like to tie in fall trends before the season {and weather} starts in Kentucky is by embracing fall hues. This sweater ties in mustard yellow, orange, navy, and lavender making it easy to wear from one season to another.

Kids are back to school throughout most of Kentucky which makes it a great time to make a donation that helps future generations. A couple of organizations that help students:
- Blessings in a Backpack // Blessings in a Backpack is a non-profit that sends food home over the weekend for kids that are fed by free or reduced school lunches. This ensures that they don’t go hungry as they live in food insecure homes.
- Kids in Need Foundation // Kids in Need is another non-profit that provides classroom grants to teachers as well as free school supplies to both teachers and students.

Chances are you probably have some teacher friends. This year, #ClearTheLists has been trending on Twitter which allows you to access teachers’ Amazon wish lists and have the items shipped directly to them. If you don’t have friends that are teachers, you can also use Donors Choose to look up schools in your area and choose a teacher’s project that you’d like to help fund. Teachers work really dang hard and spend a lot of their own money to make sure kids have what they need; supporting a local school that may not have as many PTA resources or school supplies being sent in from home is an awesome and relatively inexpensive way to give back!

To take this sweater to fall, I’d pair it with colored work pants and a jean jacket. With the multicolored stripes in this, you can go with a ton of different colored pants options and even ditch the denim jacket and just wear it with jeans. Accessorizing is pretty easy with the variety of colors too. For this look, I paired it with one of the pearl embellished headbands that are currently trending. This lavender knotted headband is part of a pack of six different colors and ships free with Prime.
