Welcome to this month’s installment of How I Style It! Each month I team up with four other bloggers and we each create an outfit around a new theme. This month we’re all showing off a nautical look to celebrate being right in the middle of summer.
Just going to warn you all now that this top is 100% addictive. I’ve had it for a week and already worn it twice {friends and family, I swear I have clothes + do laundry!}. I know that I’ll be wearing this a ton come college sports season as this shirt is perfect for cheering on my Cats in, but the classic blue and white stripes make it fun to style for summer. The ruffle sleeves work in the bell sleeve trend, but weren’t overwhelming to me. I have smaller wrists and don’t like the idea of swimming in fabric so having a short bell sleeve is the perfect compromise for me. The hem is a ruffled peplum that is flattering, allows you to indulge in an extra helping of cake {no judgment here} and also is a great length — I’m constantly wearing my FitBit on my hip and while it’s super functional, it’s not the most fashionable accessory. I love having shirts that are long enough to cover it up. I’m wearing the XS in this top and it’s loose without being baggy or too oversized.
{Have you ordered your new Kate Spade planner yet?}
I pulled in lots of turquoise as it is one of my favorite accent colors for summer. My new headband from matches my bracelet and necklace perfectly and even better gives to a wonderful cause. For every headband purchased, Headbands of Hope donates another to a child with cancer. Companies that give back always have a place in my heart {and my wallet.}
Be sure to check out all of my fabulous blogger friends and leave some love on their fun nautical looks!
