Printed Fringe Dress

Keeping things short and sweet today as I had a meltdown over Flash player not working on my computer last night only to realize this morning that it would probably reset itself if I just {duh} restarted my laptop. *eyeroll at myself*

The fun fringe on the bottom of this dress was my absolute favorite and the biggest reason that I ordered, but the fit was very meh. I’m not big on sheath type dresses in general because they rarely fit right on my pear shape but this one was a big pass. Stick straight shaped friends — order away! You’ll look fab in this asymmetrical print that will sit right and flatter your body shape.

I’m currently crushing super hard on my new Kendra Scott necklace; it’s all gold which has been my thing lately and the center features multiple cutouts of the Kendra logo connecting. Super unique and the all gold makes it easy to mix and match with any and everything in your closet. I destroyed these flats at a wedding a couple weekends ago (please click the “last seen here” link and you’ll see how clean they were pre-mud running…oops). Since it was raining and I had to go in to work, I decided to just go ahead and sacrifice these bad boys to the fashion gods. Luckily, scallops are all the rage right now and there are lots of scalloped flats to choose from. I linked a cute sale pair above (they have a bow and some peep toe action), but I’m kind of feeling the idea of stepping away from suede and going with these leather, perforated ones. So cute, right?

It’s Thrift Thursday so it felt fitting to debut this Express skirt that I snagged at Goodwill for $3 a couple weeks back. A lot of people (including friends of mine) turn their noses up at Goodwill. The trick is to find one that’s not gross, because there are gross Goodwills out there, be in a patient state of mind and understand that you’re going to have to sift.

Sometimes you’ll strike out completely, which can be frustrating, but honestly isn’t that different from shopping at a retail store, at least for me.

The other item I’m debuting is this gorgeous bracelet set from Sira & Mara! I have little wrists and hate ordering bracelets online because it’s hard to guess how big they might be. This set is gorgeous and has a good amount of stretch that keeps them on my wrist and off the ground. 10/10 would recommend.

This is the first body con anything that I’ve bought; I always felt so wide when I tried them on (and sometimes still do.) Something about this skirt drew me in and I’m so glad for it!

Anyone else get super stressed about what to wear to various summer events? I’m headed to DC tomorrow (where has the time gone) and am excited to break out this dress for the first time. I’m a big fan of exposed zippers and was so excited when I saw the one on this dress. The gold looks so pretty and delicate in the center with lace flanking the sides.

Wearing all black during the summer can be daunting, but the blush pink underneath the lace overlay looks so beautiful and the detailing really makes this more than just another little black dress.

This cuff is so gorgeous but a bit too big for my little wrists. I wanted to make sure I had a chance to show it off to you all before I attempt to restring it (fingers crossed.)

How important is it to have a sassy dress for when Beyoncé comes on mid-photo shoot. SO IMPORTANT, Y’ALL.

This outfit might be too busy for some people, but I love to play with patterns and thought this orange and gray zig zag skirt was a fun way to tie in the orange on my Loren Hope necklace. This outfit is a huge mix of everything since I have black and brown on as well as silver and gold jewelry — spice up your life, people!

The pink houndstooth dress (worn here as a blouse) is an old find that I picked up off the sale rack at H&M in Cincinnati before the store in Louisville opened (or they had online shopping — dark days, my friends), the black pants are a sale rack find and the necklace is a Charming Charlie clearance pick.
