Oh hey Monday, so nice of you to sneak up on me again! I stopped by the outlets this weekend and while I actually did pretty well as far as not losing my mind, I did pick up two fun new items from the Express Factory. If you’re close to an factory store, there’s some great deals going on right now!
Fringe Tunic
When Fossil reached out to me about participating in their new fall campaign, I knew I wanted to pair my new bag and watch with this fun fringe tunic. The blue and white is right up my alley and the fringe is a great way to stay on trend for fall.
I tend to forget about tunics; I know so many people love to style them with leggings for fall, but I still am not fully on the leggings as pants train {I know guys, I know!} Since I’m a big believer in wearing items and styling in a way that you feel comfortable in {the best style tip I can give you is also the simplest}, I paired this fun tribal inspired tunic with distressed jeans for a laid-back weekend look.
The crossbody makes this the perfect outfit to run errands or head to brunch in. The studs and tassel detail on this new style from Fossil make it a piece that’s trendy, but I really love that the deep color of the leather makes it a bag that you can use for years. I’ve been needing to replace my mini saddlebag that I snagged years ago, so I’m really happy to add this sturdy, genuine leather bag to my collection just because I know it’s one that I’ll constantly reach for.
Despite what everyone else will try and tell you, summer is not over {I did buy my first sweater of the season this week though #yikes}, so I pulled out my turquoise tassel necklace to add some more color into this look. I get asked pretty frequently if I actually use watches or just wear them as an accessory; I’m a huge fan of watches, y’all! Love them. Seriously. I know it’s the 21st century but I’m still the girl that prefers a physical planner to an online calendar. Pulling my phone out to check the time or date isn’t always appropriate depending on setting, so having a watch on makes my life a lot simpler. I also love watches that have date windows because I can never tell you what day it is and frequently need to date things.
Lace Up Pom Pom Sandals
This striped romper is super cute but always gets wrinkly so quickly, womp womp. Still it’s very comfortable, one of the few rompers that fits me and has adjustable straps.
While I appreciate neutrals {really I do!}, I am definitely more of a color kinda gal. One of the best things about neutrals, in my humble opinion, is how easy it is to incorporate colorful accessories. While I did go for a print mixing outfit, I love the way the white and blue ratio is flipped between the shorts of this romper and the polka dot chambray shirt. I knew I wanted to wear my new colorful lace up sandals and so my rainbow tassel clutch seemed like the perfect bag to go with this outfit.
Button down shirts are pretty much my bread and butter when it comes to closet staples; they’re easy to dress up or down, come in so many different colors and prints and really are just appropriate for each and every occasion. Work? Button down. Casual dinner out? Button down. Tucked into a skirt for a flirty date night look? Button down. Basically, what I’m saying is buy all the button downs. {Because I do….}
Of course we have to talk about these amazing sandals. I first saw this style last summer and when spring rolled around, I knew I had to have a pair. They come in a wide variety of colors and prices; these ones from SheIn are just $36 {with free shipping – my fave!} which is such a steal compared to the $150 pair I had my eye on. I’m a pretty true 8.5 in shoes and am wearing the EUR 39 here. I will share that these are not the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever put on, but in my experience with lace ups, they rarely are. The lace up straps on these are easy to tie and adjust around your foot and don’t cut into your legs too badly thanks to the thicker faux leather straps.
Bicycle Graphic Tee & Vera Bradley Tess Crossbody
Cheers to Monday! I spent most of my weekend at the gym {#WhoAmI} and putting off studying for the test I have this week, but the kickoff and highlight of my weekend was a super sweet package from Vera Bradley featuring some of their brand new fall items that launched last Tuesday! Over the past couple years, they have stepped up their design game big time and released leather styles that are absolutely stunning while maintaining the convenience that brand lovers have come to expect with their products.
This bag is available in several different colors and fabrications, such as cognac & black leather, and a couple of different prints too. You can snag the leather bag on sale in lilac {under $100!} and white {almost 40% off!} right now! I love this one because it brings in burgundy which is always such a big color for fall and the black piping is fabulous.
Almost immediately, I knew that I wanted to create an outfit around my new bag and this super cute graphic tee. At $12 it’s a great deal and the fit is really comfortable; I did go up to a small in this one just so it was a bit looser. This outfit also would be super fun with a button-front denim {or suede} skirt for a more casual look.
These skirts go with everything and are super easy to wear. My only knock against them is that the linen material wrinkles super easily. Luckily, it’s very easy to steam, but it’s not a piece I’d travel with.
Striped Off the Shoulder Dress
It’s Thursday and I’m happy to report that I’ve survived another week and even made it to the gym a couple times. I’ve been loving off the shoulder pieces lately and the dress in today’s post is right up my alley: colorful and striped with a fun fit and flare.
I work with SheIn pretty frequently for my blog and the amazing thing is that they always have new product being added to their website and I’m always able to find something that’s “me.” So often now with big chains that are at the malls, I go in and leave empty handed because I won’t like a current collection; a girl wants options, y’all! The playful vertical stripes were too cute for me to pass up on and shockingly I own very few striped pieces that are vertical; the effect is slimming and I love that these ones have a brushstroke effect. Like many short sleeved off the shoulder pieces, this dress can also be worn as a strapless dress too.
Necklaces can seem daunting with this neckline, but I swear by the shorter and more delicate pieces. I have several that I love {and that you all regularly see: my howlite necklace and the Kendra Scott Elisa necklace immediately come to mind}. I’m wearing a fun constellation necklace here to celebrate the fact that Leo season is almost upon us. I’ve raved about my pink howlite ring before — I have a serious obsession with all things howlite and love the oversized nature of this ring.
Neutral {ish} accessories were what I chose to round out the look. My mini MAB is one of my favorite bags due to the super cute and versatile print; this exact print is actually available right now {in very limited quantities} in a similar size from Rebecca Minkoff here. White nails seem so chic for summer but are always so hard for me to keep “clean” looking — any tips?
