Graphic sweaters are slowly but surely starting to pop up and I have to give this one a major shoutout because today I saw a woman walking her french bulldog from afar and fell in MAJOR love (as I do almost every time I see a dog). I hadn’t seen a frenchie in person since we were in Italy and my dad told me he didn’t know what they were (who are you?); no worries, I filled him in and now he informs me each and every time he sees one.
I think the weather knew I’d started thinking about fall because all of the sudden BAM it is hot as hell. I’m trying not to be too bitter about it, but the excessive heat is a lot. Climbing into my car midday has been horrid. I picked up this brushstroke plaid skirt recently and love how easy it is to style.

Oh heyyyyyy August! Even though there’s still over a month left it seems like summer is coming to a close. I don’t really feel like summer’s over until my birthday passes #selfabsorbed but I am starting to work some fall like pieces into my wardrobe and into my outfits.

Say hello to my Leo Clutch, making it’s first outfit post debut and looking so good doing it. The size is one I really like for errands and even to take to work when I’m just working a short shift. There’s card slots inside so I can carry my license, debit and credit card as well as folded cash, and there’s room for my iPhone 6, car keys, sunglasses and a small snack. The snack is the real key for me. No room for snacks = no bueno.
The main requirement for my daily beauty routine is that it has to be quick. Regardless of the time of day, I’m usually in a rush and don’t have time to prime my eyes, blend five different shadows and then lay on a perfect eye liner. That’s not me hating — I love adding a little extra oomph, just not on the reg.
My basic routine of filled brows, foundation, blush and mascara is super quick so if I have an extra 30-45 seconds, I’ll add in the highlighter which looks great with my blush and a quick lip tint.
I hate myself for sampling my moisturizer because now I can’t give it up after seeing the wonders it works for my skin. Word on the LUSH streets, is that Princess Diana loved this one too.
This outfit was a real life pinned it, spinned it – except the “pin” was a coworker wearing a similar look and the “spin” was me waking up and rushing to pick out an outfit, not knowing what to wear and recreating the look. It’s been super hot and muggy in Louisville lately which means all my attempts to make layers happen are out. It shouldn’t be okay for me to break out in a sweat walking to my car, but here we are.
This is also a trick for all my pear and hour glass shaped ladies: the waisted shirt draws attention to one of your best physical assets in the same manner a belt would. And no worries, the shirt doesn’t add so much oomph that you look hippier than normal.
I quietly pattern mixed by tying the plaid flannel shirt on over the drapey striped tee. This tee is super soft and comfy and was a steal at under $2!
Guys, I’m 100% in love with today’s photos. I mean, yes I almost died because wedges and large gravel rocks do not mix well (who knew?), but I think these pictures are so fun and different and maybe a little edgy? JK on the last one.
I bought this purse last August during a major sale at Macy’s so keep those eyes peeled if you’re in the market for a new bag carried in store.
This skirt is one of my absolute favorite pieces to pattern mix with. The zig zags are fun and the orange is summer appropriate; when I pattern mix with the skirt I tend to pair it with a patterned shirt in neutral colors: navy and white, black and white, camel and white, etc.
The Elisa necklace from Kendra Scott is one of my absolute favorite pieces lately. I ended up buying my silver druzy one with Rocksbox credit and currently have my eye on the black druzy as well as this gorgeous rose gold piece. Here’s hoping they show up in a future Rocksbox since they’re on my wishlist (: You can sign up to receive beauties like this for $19 a month, but try a month free with code whatnicoleworexoxo at checkout.
I think I mentioned on here that I spent some time in Athens, Georgia last weekend. What hasn’t been mentioned is that my mascara did not make the trip home. RIP, babe.
This new one has been great, once I got over the fact that the applicator wand kind of resembles a death trap. Terrifying. The results are good as long as you don’t get yourself with the barbed wire-esque wand.
