Top Travel Gifts + Inside My Toiletry Bag | The Overnight Essentials
Is there anything worse than staying at a friends or going on a trip and realizing you forgot that ONE thing? I got tired of continuing to do this so I finally took one of my makeup bags and put all of my essential toiletry items into it. This little bag has everything I need for a weekend away and is small enough for me to throw into a tote or even keep in my car!

This tends to be the time of year where I may overindulge during a night out and end up crashing at a friend’s house so having my must have items handy is super helpful. Here’s a quick list of what I’ve deemed necessary:
- contact case with solution inside
- deodorant
- body wash
- makeup removing wipes
- travel toothbrush and toothpaste {cannot tell you how many times this has saved me}
- lip balm
- face spin brush
- face wash
- washcloth
- face moisturizer
- lotion
- eyebrow pencil {ok maybe not ~necessary but it is nice to have!}
- mouthwash
There are a few other items that I didn’t picture but definitely recommend:
- extra pair of underwear
- feminine products {you’ll be grateful at some point!}
- hair ties
- bobby pins
What are some of the must have items that you need for overnight trips/sleepovers?

I gifted the scratch off map to my cousin last year; she’s still very young {3 tomorrow!}, but I think this is a fun way for her to see where she’s been as she gets older. A jewelry organizer is SO ideal. I used to always put my various necklaces, bracelets, and earrings into individual snack sized ziplock bags, and can say that I -much- prefer the method of using a jewelry organizer. I’ve given a portable mobile battery to every member of my immediate family.

When I travel, I use my phone a ton for everything from navigation, looking up places to eat, and taking photos. Having a portable charger is so helpful and can be a lifesaver when you realize you’re down to 10% battery life. And finally — I cannot say enough good things about the fleece travel blanket. It folds down to the size of a pillow and has a slot so that you can slip it over the handle of your luggage. Unfolded, it’s a full length blanket that’s perfect for the car or a plane.
