Hey y’all; last week I embarked on an insane opportunity in Saint Louis, Missouri. I was asked to speak on a fashion panel for a brand to discuss marketing strategies, evaluate their current social media and advertisements, talk about product selection, trend, what consumers want to see in stores and more. While I can’t share too many details, it was the kind of opportunity that made me step back and really appreciate the growth I’ve experienced as a blogger. Today, I’m sharing what I packed for my 3 day, 2 night trip as well as my printable packing list in case you’re heading on any two day trips or weekend getaways soon!

What to Pack for a Quick Two Day Trip | Invest in a Quality Carry On
I mentioned over on Instagram Stories that I was considering purchasing a new carry on since I have another trip in June, but I ended up taking my Vera Bradley carry on. It was a great reminder for me on how durable this piece of luggage has been {two trips to Europe and numerous stateside trips to Chicago, DC, San Jose, etc.}. While I’ve been eyeing a hardside carry on, I do love that I can stuff this one FULL of things.

I’ve worked with Vera Bradley in the past so I want to be very clear that this is not sponsored and I bought this luggage with my own hard earned dollars. Well worth it and I love that I can always spot my bag.
What to Pack for a Quick Two Day Trip | Bring Your Cute PJs
It’s super rare that I wear legit PJs when I’m at home. I usually end up in my Nike shorts and a Kentucky tee – every single night. But going to a hotel, I wanted to have a cute pair of PJs in case any of the other bloggers on the panel wanted to hang a la slumber party.
What to Pack for a Quick Two Day Trip | My Packing List
While this list isn’t totally cumulative, it includes all of my essentials. I left off most of the items that I brought in my personal item like my DSLR, a planner, notebook, pens, etc. Everyone knows that I love makeup but since this was such a quick trip, I did try to limit myself to just my must-haves. Admittedly, this may be more than others finds necessary for a two day trip.
What to Pack for a Quick Two Day Trip | The Makeup I Went With
My skin always gets a little wonky when I’m traveling so I went with brands and products that I’m super familiar with. I did bring my newish Clarisonic with both the foundation brush head and the acne cleansing brush; I wasn’t too impressed with the cleaning brush. My skin didn’t feel clean after and I felt like it didn’t do much especially in comparison to the off-brand face brush I have.

While it was super tempting to bring a full size palette {or even more than one}, I went with the Urban Decay Naked Petite Heat. This palette is a GREAT size for traveling, has a mirror and is 5 mattes and one demi shimmer. Urban Decay advertises the demi matte as a shade that you can use to highlight with but it’s way too white for me to use on my skin as a highlight. {It’s great on the inner corners of my eyes though!} I’ve raved about the Backtalk lipstick before; it’s a great shade for everyday wear and was an obvious choice when I was trying to pick a lipstick to bring.
What to Pack for a Quick Two Day Trip | Jewelry & Accessories
I already know that one of you is like, “Nicole. Two purses for a two day trip?” Admittedly, not necessary! Truth time – I only took the Rebecca Minkoff Love Crossbody and was just fine with having one purse. I think that the cognac bag would’ve been another great option; just make sure to take a neutral bag! While I’m not big on dressing neutral, I do believe that neutral accessories {and clothing for that matter} make packing and outfit planning for trips so much easier.

For jewelry, I packed pretty light as well; I wore my Stella & Dot pendant through the airport; the Rebel pendant goes with just about everything and also comes in silver if you prefer that over gold. I grabbed my black and white Sugarfix tassel earrings {again, another option that goes with everything}, and then packed my Lisi Lerch Ginger earrings so that I had a fun statement piece as well.
What to Pack for a Quick Two Day Trip | The MVP of my Trip
I threw this Sleep aromatherapy body wash into my liquids bag at the last minute and it was AMAZING. I usually use Bath and Body Works “Stress Relief” when I’m at home but want to get a full size bottle of Sleep now. The Lavender and Chamomile smells amazing in the shower and the scent lingers on the skin. I was extremely tired after longs days both of the nights in St. Louis and this was the perfect nightcap to unwind with.
Now tell me: what’s your must-have on a quick getaway or work trip?
