Lord knows I love changing up my lip color; for me, makeup choices, especially, lips is another way to accessorize. Being that lip products are my favorite, I was super excited when Urban Decay sent me all of the shades of their new Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lipgloss. {Yes, all of them!} Seeing as this is a new product, I thought it would be fun to share my first impressions and a makeup look featuring the Urban Decay lipgloss.

‘It’s Poppin’: Urban Decay Lipgloss First Impressions | The Lowdown
Urban Decay’s been reformulating lots of lip products {have you tried out the super popular Vice Lipsticks?} and brought out this brand new product. From Urban Decay, “Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lipgloss is ultra-shiny, glides on cushiony-soft and provides long-lasting wear that’s comfortable, not tacky.” It’s available starting today through the Urban Decay site and coming to other retailers soon.
This lipgloss comes in four different finishes: cream, sheer cream, holographic, and metallic, and retails for $20 with four shades exclusive to Ulta and the Urban Decay website. {The rest of the shades can be found through Urban Decay, Macy’s, Sephora, and Ulta!} The lip gloss is vanilla mint flavored and has Vitamin E and peppermint oil to keep lips hydrated.

‘It’s Poppin’: Urban Decay Lipgloss First Impressions | Packaging & Applicator
This packaging is sleek and chic. Each tube of lipgloss features the Urban Decay logo on the front of the top. Hi-Fi Shine is etched into the side of each tube with a sticker that has the shade name, size, and product life on the other side. The chrome framing of the tubes gives the illusion that the gloss is “floating” in the tube, which I found aesthetically pleasing. The slim tube definitely will be easy to tuck away into a clutch or even a wallet.
The application wand is a fuzzy, paddle style that applies evenly — can I get a praise hands emoji?!

‘It’s Poppin’: Urban Decay Lipgloss First Impressions | My First Impressions
I prefer lipstick to lipgloss so I was definitely curious to try this out. I tried one of the cream finish shades, Savage, and applied a hot pink lip liner before applying the gloss. Surprising to me, the gloss isn’t too sticky or tacky, which was a huge win! One of the reasons I normally don’t reach for glosses is that glue like vibe that reminds me of the roll on glosses I wore when I first started wearing makeup. The Ultra Cushion formula feels moisturizing, I love the mint scent and taste, and this Urban Decay lipgloss wears well. I actually ended up eating a few hours after applying and while it the gloss did transfer a bit to my glass and fork; when I finished dinner, I still had lip color fully in tact on my lips.

If you’re someone that loves a bold lip color but hates the drying effect that comes with some lipsticks, I’d recommend trying out the cream formula shades! BONUS: there’s no scrubbing or tugging on your lips at the end of the night when you’re taking your makeup off.
‘It’s Poppin’: Urban Decay Lipgloss First Impressions | Shade Range
Come all the way through Urban Decay! They’re launching this new product with 20 shades and as I mentioned before four different finishes. I love seeing a collection that has shades for a variety of skin tones and brings a variety of textures and finishes. I really do think that there’s a lipgloss shade for everyone here, which isn’t always the case for other brands.

I’m still not sold on lip gloss because I just think they all have that sticky feeling and I can’t quite shake it. I’m glad this one doesn’t. They do have some awesome shades though. Those purples! We’re about the same complexion so I think I’d give that pink a try, it looks so good on you!

I can never find a good lip color that doesn’t dry out my lips. I should try this one
