In my 7 1/2 years of blogging, this is the longest break I’ve taken and while it was much needed, I’ve missed writing. I’ve been sharing outfits online for over ten years (!!) now and so much of the blogging and influencing landscape has changed. Hell, I’ve changed in this time!
When I started working full time, I felt a shift in how much energy and time I wanted to devote to something that had begun to feel like a second job.
Where Have You Been Loca? | So What Does It Mean?
To be honest….I don’t fully know. I know I’ve missed writing, getting out to support and share small businesses, and my favorite shopping finds so moving forward I want to get back to that. I’m still determining what kind of content cadence I reasonably think I can maintain so that may flux but I am looking forward to writing longer form content over the videos that Instagram and Tik Tok have prioritized.
Where Have You Been Loca? | The Future of Style Posts
A huge part of my step back, aside from work being demanding, has been adjusting to my post-pandemic (and I use post lightly because who knows when COVID will ever truly be gone) body. I’ve been working towards body neutrality while also being mindful that making comments about my body to an audience may be harmful to others even if that’s not my intent. I know I’m not unique in being a different size than I was in 2020 but getting used to my changed body has been something I wanted to work through offline for that reason.

A handful of things:
- I got a dog! In October ’22, I picked up the cutest miniature schnauzer who I named Woodford. He’s a year old now and 15 lbs of fluffy brows and personality.
- I finished my first year in my apartment which I still really love.
- I traveled for work to Baltimore, Boca Raton, and Philadelphia and for fun to Sacramento.
- I used some of my time outside of work to reprioritize doing things I enjoy like thrifting (more to come on this!), cooking, and reading.
- I bought a walking pad (more to come on this as well) and an adjustable desk.
- I got COVID for the first time after making it to 2023.
- I saw Beyoncé in concert for the fourth time.
