It’s the first Wednesday in January which means it’s How I Style It! This month, Becky, Della, Tif and I showed up ready to share our winter blues. Everyone knows my absolute love for anything cobalt so to change things up, I wore blue jeans, an under $20 {!!!} off the shoulder top and my blue mirrored Ray Bans. {New year, new me!}

At just $16 this cute, ruffle hem, off the shoulder top rates as a no brainer. I mean how often of you find an under $20 off the shoulder top? I love that the cuffs and shoulder portion are elastic making it easy to put on and adjust to sit how you want. You can go with just slightly off the shoulder or more daring if you’re feeling brave, like I was here. A laid back and casual vibe is just what the weekend calls for so I styled a look with my favorite pair of distressed jeans from STS Blue. These are a “girlfriend” fit that’s looser than the skinny jeans I normally favor. Luckily for me, they’re also more flattering on my wide hips and thighs than a traditional boyfriend jean.
The details
While I was cleaning up my accessories over the weekend, I came across my Daniel Wellington Dapper St. Mawes watch. This timepiece has a classic look with the dark brown leather strap and fun, metallic blue hands. Pairing unexpected pieces together is something I enjoy so along with the classic leather watch, I pulled out a pair of statement studs from Kendra Scott.
Pearls are actually a symbol of my sorority so I’ll always have a soft spot for them. Of course being me, I tend to avoid the classic studs and go for more modern spins. For example, these starburst stud earrings I scored at Nordstrom Rack! One of the things I love about Kendra Scott pieces is the unique designs and different stones. This Etta necklace is a favorite with the gray granite and smaller size that makes it a great necklace to layer with.
Poppy red is such a big color during the holidays but I found myself wondering if I could carry it beyond. All things considered, Vera Bradley designed this bag perfect. A “just right” size with a crossbody strap and reversible handles so you can change things up.
